Throwing grenades back and forth at each other makes no sense. The US and Canada share borders, political interests, financial interests, and have similar laws and morals. We are even part of the same human race, all flying around the sun through space on the same planet. We can either do something to make the journey better for each other, or do things to make it worse, or do nothing.

Rivalry breeds contempt. Contempt leads to anger. Anger leads to violence.

My friend drives a Chevy. I bought a Ford. Now he isn't my friend any more. He says Chevy is better then Ford.

Sometimes I just want to get off this planet.

Look, the only thing that Canada leads the world in is being directly north of the United States.

Okay, all joking aside, this needs to stop.

you know a politicians lying because his lips are moving? fine, fair assessment, but what does it benefit anyone if an ex-minister for defense for canada says something?

and i don't buy that black projects stuff, fully, where are all the saucer type aircraft that have been developed under the UFO guise? some of them, okay, but it can't be all of them.

Alright, let's not let ONE member derail this thread. It's not aboot(pun intended) US vs Canada. Let's keep to the topic guys.

Thanks.

It is embarrassing that this thread has gone this far. Anyone who knows this guys knows he is a quack, and got all hyper after reading Corso's book, after he had already been quietly booted out of a meaningless position that he only held for a short time.

Well, the 'tat' I think was coming from a poster in response to the Prime Minister who seems to think America knows stuff/is not sharing/bad neighbor/etc. While it's true we may be a bad neighbor by exporting McDonalds', the average American has no idea what he's talking about. Even if true, there's really nothing we could do about it...except get angry at our own government and move to Canada. Although not an altogether bad idea, it's too cold for me. Once global warming kicks in, then I'll hit the beaches of Nunavut.

my point is not that wishing for hard evidence makes you an idiot, my point is that no evidence is hard enough that a determined idiot can't dismiss it. what hard evidence would you accept? simple question, any chance of a simple answer.

I would like to see physical proof from the aliens. Like an object, ray gun, some sort of technologically advanced aparatus, maps of distant star systems, their written communication if they have it. I don't know that we'd be able to tell if it's alien or not, but it would help substantiate opinion.

edit: grammar

As former defense minister of Canada his opinion carries extra weight.

He may not have any tangible/physical evidence to provide but IMO that is almost meaningless. We are not in a courtroom trying to determine if he is telling the truth or lying and therefore we should take his comments at face value. Innocent until proven guilty!

During the last twenty years we have had countless testimony from either retired or active government employees yet few people are convinced. Countless books, magazines, tv shows, etc... Is everyone's imagination working overspeed? No way!

Ronald Reagan has said many times "How fast our world would unite and how small/meaningless our differences would appear if faced with an external threat". He didn't give a detailed explanation of what "external threat" meant but in the context of this message it becomes clear he meant *other-worldely*; outside our planet!

Now the questions are: How long has the american government been acquiring knowledge and technology from space visitors? Why have the american people and the majority of american politicians been kept in the dark? Are any other countries involved in technology sharing with aliens?

For me the questions are rhetorical but I ask them anyway. I doubt we will ever get official disclosure from american sources but it doesn't hurt to ask.

How can Canada admit that the US did something. That's like me admitting my neighbor did something. Makes no freaking sense at all.

Everyone knows this guy is a flat out liar.

Right.............

You want the government to hand you over any incriminating evidence just to satisfy your whims.........how naive of you! If there is a REAL CONSPIRACY that means there is ALMOST ZERO EVIDENCE! Get it?

If a mobster plans a hit on his/her rival would they go to the police station and hand over their gun and admit their crime? The answer is NO!!! If president bush was lying about Iraq possessing WMD would you expect him to admit it? The answer is NO!!!!!

The same is true in the ufo coverup. They will never admit anything unless given impunity.

But even if we had physical evidence, say a raygun, what makes you think that is admissable evidence? Who will verify the raygun is not american, russian, chineese, french or venusian?? If someone wants to raise questionable doubt they can always do that so that nothing can be proven 100%.

Perhaps we need alien dna samples. Yeah that would be good except most scientists will refuse to acknowledge the results under NATIONAL SECURITY threats. You see when dealing with the ufo issue there is never proof only EVIDENCE.

Enough said!

If there is life from other planets visiting here and we have communicated with them as this guy claims, then I would assume they know atleast one of our languages.

I would think that any life capable of visiting here from other planets would be far more advanced than us and capable of easily accessing public information via tv/radio signals and even the interent.

He also claims they came here decades ago... So, wouldn't it be safe to say that by now they'd have to know the vast majority don't have any clue of their existence and if they came here to warn us and offer their help, why the hell wouldn't they just land in the middle of a public area, make contact, offer their help to the entire population, and then let everyone decide if we wanted help or not?

Mmmm, maple syrup (Homer-like drool)

Maybe we should read between the lines, perhaps we should hear what he is not saying.
A person in his position might say stuff, but stay away from some of the details for fear of some strange heart attack or car accident may happen if he reveals to much info of a sensitive matter.

Being vague is good for self preservation in this case.
The whole 'got the info from a book' or whatever second hand source may be a good way to provide enough doubt in some peoples minds to render his speech inocuous enough to not raise alarm.

In other words, he has to be careful what he says without admitting he has proof.

IMO. I'll be the minister of his defense.

Many of us know more about your Country than many of your own citizens.

seriously though they have no spies and no military that is worth its merit due to its widespread malnutrition their people just are not fit to judge the USA.

There are more hungry, starving, and homeless people in the US than there are in Canada. Further, I guess you've never heard of JTF 2

On topic, this speech seems speculative at best, as already pointed out.

Unless he was privy to sensitive information why does his opinion carry more weight because he held public office?

That doesn't make any sense.

Hi everyone,

A good old recipe :

1 : Tell & remind people that the world is in danger
2 : That the ET visited us
3 : Tell them that some of us met them and told them to f---k of-
4 : Tell them that some of us duplicate ET tech and it's pollution free
5 : Tell them to join you to disclose the subject

Feel free to add more steps

We should introduce him to :

Edgar Mitchell & Steven Greer

Why :

-We never see a single proof of what they claim
-They all say that someone told them some secret things or that they got access to some documents, balablahblah

Feel free to add more things that they have in common

Now, is he making any money with this stuff, I am asking you ?

Cheers,
Europa aka Buck

He has nothing to lose, and much to gain on the speaking circuit.

He is in his mid 80's. His career is over. Had he stated these beliefs 30 or 40 years ago, then he would be risking a career. Not anymore.

He does not go into details for obvious reasons, though I think we wish he would or could.

What are these obvious reasons? That's a canard often given instead of saying "I got nuthin'".

To counter your argument that position = credibility, we have our own embarassments in the US. I give you Ramsey Clark.
