Fractional reserve banking is a fine system. It would be fine in a free market. Free market just means it is not manipulated by government or a
corporation, but basically the people within it are it's masters. The current one is manipulated by the federal reserve in order to create booms and
busts that the rich of the rich can make money off of while simultaneously destroying the middle class everytime there is a "bust." Fractional
reserve banking is fine though it doesn't have to be evil. There is nothing still wrong with this model as long as people know what they are getting
themselves into, buyer beware.
But the problem in our country is that people have no choice. A man tried to start his own gold backed currency, the Liberty Dollar was raided by the
FBI and his millions worth of gold was confiscated. The Liberty Dollar was not perfect but should the american people not have the choice to choose
among competing currencies? Why not let the people choose? Why dictate and mandate if the current system is so much better? If you want a paycheck
shoot sometimes you need to have a bank account. There is almost no way to live without a bank account.
It is hard enough to start different currencies and these efforts should be welcomed like new businesses. Let them rise and fall on their own merits
but we should really stop this practice of meeting new ideas with the point of a gun, and embrace new things.
So it's not that fractional reserve banking is usury and it's evil I think this is overplayed. I think this system is fine in many situations. The
problem in America is that there is no choice, and whenever somebody tries to do something else they meet the FBI and lose everything.
