They have said they don't want to alarm us. So if they don't want to alarm us with potential consequences of terrorist attacks or food shortages, do you really think a government is going to reveal information relating to other matters of groundbreaking significance...?

Sometimes one coverup does the other a favor. But the overall goal is to divert attention away from the truth.
