It's not self-proclaimed, how assumptive of a statement to make.

Methinks you like me to repeat myself ^_^, already addressed in the thread. There's a "back" button that returns to previous pages.

Methinks your name isn't Jinni? If not, quit responding to questions asked to him.

Oh, wait. You're all men now right Saint?

Do any of you clowns have anything to add ON TOPIC?

I've refuted every bunk of it. You are wasted space unless otherwise.

Your post mentioned my name. It was unclear who you were addressing.

An interesting conclusion I'm sure. Where it comes from I have no idea.

Ah, now you're specific to whom you are talking. I'm interested in hearing the response from clowns.

Sorry my matey. I don't feed trolls any longer. But I do wish you the best and hope you have an enjoyable experience under your new ATS account. It's understandable how starting out with a fresh posting slate can be refreshing.

As for your claim Jesus, more specifically the star, was based off of Caesar and his star, that's for another time. I just purchased two books dealing with those claims and will be dissecting them both in the research forum after the Holidays.

Cheers. Enjoy your ATS run for as long as it lasts.

Nah, seems your mind is already made up.

And now, back to the news. I've also seen adamant claims that Jesus was born on June 26th. The fact is, the Bible does not give a date. We could assume then that we should not celebrate Jesus' birth at all, or pick a day to celebrate it. If we don't celebrate it because we cannot discern a specific date, we have to wonder about becoming legalistic, something Christ had spoken against in the New Testament, like here:

"Another time he went into the synagogue, and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath. Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, "Stand up in front of everyone."

Then Jesus asked them, "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they remained silent.

He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored. Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus." - Mark 3:1-5

Golly gee, and thanks for the information that you don't respond to facts. I'll no longer bother.

Enjoy spewing your crap as long as it lasts.

I'm so sorry I won the argument and you have nothing on-topic to say.

Yes, there's a big chance I do not believe you are a Saint ordained by God.

Go effing figure.

Post more.

Wait, was YOUR contribution to this tread on the birthday of Jesus that he was really some guy the Catholics worshipped that died December 6, AD 343.

Bravo.

Kudos.

Thanks for coming back.

Call me boy and send me some more sweets. That went over well last time.

HAHAHAH!

No, show me where I wrote that?

Are you insane?

I'm sorry. What was your argument again? Oh yes, contradicting nativity accounts, copycat Messiah hypotheses, and sheer speculation.

You have to offer us some sort of challenge before we accept. Rehashing the same skeptic arguments that have been discussed and refuted on ATS a million and half times loses it's fun after a while.

Thanks for trying to pull me into the tired debate by appealing to my ego, though. That was a nice touch. Sneaky. But laziness and boredom often overshadows ego.

Enjoy.

Oh, so you just defended that poster to me, without believing a word they said. Got it.

No, I'm not insane. I think you're incontinent.

Have fun with that. I recommend Pampers.

Off for a date, Christmas and vacation.

Be back to laugh at you later (with an audience).

That means we now have to add chrsitmas to june as well double the gifts double the fun....

Man wants to live on forever...he cannot accept the fact that like any other animal he will die and be 6 feet under....so they create mythical beings who will allow them to live on forever and ever...Mans brain cannot accept its ending...thats why people never experience life because they are always in the past or the future...so they are never in the moment...which is the only thing that is real....They are evn selfish in the flesh....if someone is hooked up to life support humans would rather have them suffer than pull the plug...because their death would be a void in their life and they are to selfish to have this void....Humans are the only ones that hoard their dead....put me in a gold coffin and throw money inside preserve me forever...a proper and decent burial ...would be for you to be buried in a wide open field just 3 feet under the ground...and seeds planted on top of you so that whatever is planted and needs to grow feeds off you to survive...give back to the earht that when you were around helped you survive...but no.... humans dont want to feed the worms....they are too good for that...they part themselves of nature when in reality...its all just nature and humans cannot escape it....

Would you like to have a go with me, all formal and fancy like, in the debate forum? We can discuss it with facts, evidence, and sources. Three anonymous judges. It would be just the two of us with no interference from the peanut gallery. Lots of fun and you get the nifty little fighter title beneath your name. Interested? You'll argue pro for your position, I'll argue con.

I don't see why I have to buy you dinner to answer a simple question.

Matthew or Luke? Which version do you chose over the rest of the Bible?

I'll restate, since you no more read my post the first time than you apparently ever have the New Testament.

The nativity stories are bunk and contradict even themselves. Which was it? Did Mary and Joseph go to Bethlehem for a Roman census or were they already residents of Bethlehem making the rest of the Gospels that refer to Jesus of Nazarene wrong? Only one version can be right? Matthew or Luke. One is a creative revisionist, or more likely both.

If Mary and Joseph really went for the Roman census then Herod had already been dead for decades since Rome didn't even occupy Judea prior, meaning Matthew completely made up the Massacre of the Innocents, which you also won't find in any actual historical accounts. That was Moses, not Jesus.

The fact is, the only canonized accounts of the nativity, not only contradict each other, but actual history, and were written IN RESPONSE to Emperor Augustus declaring HIMSELF the son of god as a result of seeing a comet in the night sky. The creators of the nativity stories also chose Bethlehem for their own night sky portend of Jesus' birth (which contradicts all historical accounts of the man from Nazarene ) in order to contrive it fit ancient Jewish prophecy.

Too bad it wasn't true, and Mathew and Luke didn't compare "divinely inspired" notes.

So glad you just bought books on Emperor Augustus as you said in a previous post. About time. You DO worship the son of god, right?

" The bible is not the word of God. It has gone though so many alterations and abuse over the centuries there are BOUND to be contradictions, mistakes etc. "

I must simply disagree.

If it is not The Word of God, it could not contain so many self defining words in it, not to mention hiding the gospel in the names of the first ten men of the Bible.

There were some mistakes, but with a companion Bible and a concordance almost anyone can get a deeper understanding of The Word and come to know that it is true.

The entire video is worthwhile.
