This offends me. Poor guy? You think Blago is some sap? My friend, do some research and you'll rethink that opinion.

Also, I reiterate my previous comments about the Obama team distancing themselves from this. I'm sure you've all read or heard where Obama says that he and Blago never talked about his, but Axelrod stated in an earlier interview that they did talk about it. Well, guess what? Now the Obama team and Axelrod say that he "misspoke".

Obama is a liar. Obama's transition team are liars. Blago is a liar. Durbin is a liar. Every Chicago-bred politician is a liar (and not very good one's I might add).

But, you really think you voted for CHANGE?!?!?!?!?!?!

When will you all realize you've been LIED to and sold a bill of goods worth nothing. Obama could care less about ANY of the promises he's made. He's no different than Blago...self-preservation, except he gets to be KING and RULE from day one.

Mr. Obama has a relationship with Mr. Blagojevich, having not only endorsed Blagojevich in 2002 and 2006, but having served as a top adviser to the Illinois governor in his first 2002 run for the state house.
In the Democratic gubernatorial primary that year, then-state sen. Obama endorsed former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris. But after Blagojevich won, Obama came around enthusiastically. At the same time, meanwhile, Axelrod had such serious concerns about whether Blagojevich was ready for governing he refused to work for his one-time client.

According to Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., Mr. Obama's incoming White House chief of staff, Emanuel, then-state senator Obama, a third Blagojevich aide, and Blagojevich's campaign co-chair, David Wilhelm, were the top strategists of Blagojevich's 2002 gubernatorial victory.

The guy was auctioning off BO's old Senate seat. He was shaking down the Chicago Tribune for editorial slack before he'd help them sell Wrigley Field. It's not as though the banks had thing one to do with that. The guy's a bag of #. Tony Rezko probably rolled over on him, which would have given the Feds probable cause to proceed with the wiretaps. Come to think of it, just the stuff that came out during Rezko's trial might have done that.

news.yahoo.com...

At that, we're lucky. We came THAT close to having another dickwad Senator from Illinois - if Blag had just waved the magic wand over himself and taken the seat, no telling how long he could have stayed out of jail.

Well, I guess my thoughts of Obama not being able to be 100% clean from all of this and to not be in the know of anything, may be a little on target.

Seems like Mr. Obama comes from the same tree as the others, eats off the same plate and well, birds of a feather flock together. The connections are all starting to add up....not good.

I REALLY hope that my thoughts are 100% wrong, because the thought of my President being connected to these crooks greatly disturbs me. And it should disturb all, including those who voted for him.

Two party crime family what else can you say? You get to choose between coke and pepsi. The bloods or the Cryps. Anyone who thought Obama was for change will get a rude awakening as their rights get stripped further and the power of big brother grows exponentially. Dont blame me I wrote in Ron Paul.

Didn't the governor want an ambassadorship or a cabinet position? Isn't the president the only person that could give him that? Don't tell me that Obama wasn't involved.

I agree with you, he was arrested because he took on the bank, i just finished telling my son the same thing this morning. Just too much of a coincidence that this comes the day after he threatened them.

Don't get me wrong we all know the man is corrupt, but the timing's all wrong. They've been investigating him for years and they wait until now to act on it ? If it had nothing to do with the bank thing then they would have acted sooner, or waited until he filled that senate seat so they could've taken more people down with him. Why settle for just him when they had the potential to get so many more.

His actions are disgraceful, but what's even more disgraceful is the way the feds are doing the bank's dirty work for them.

IL Gov Blago thinks he can do anything he wants, just typical corruption. Previous scum-buckets:

Since the 1970s, three former Illinois governors have served time behind bars.

Otto Kerner: Served from 1961 to 1968 – Kerner was convicted on bribery, tax evasion and other counts in 1973. He was convicted of arranging favorable horse racing dates as governor in return for getting horse racing association stock at reduced prices. He served less than one year of a three year sentence. Kerner died in 1976.

Dan Walker: Served from 1973 to 1977 – Walker pleaded guilty to bank fraud, misapplication of funds and perjury in 1987. The charges were not related to his service a governor. He served one and a half years.

George Ryan: Served from 1999 to 2003 – Ryan was convicted of corruption in 2006 for steering state contracts and leases to political insiders while he was Illinois' secretary of state and then governor. He's serving a 61/2-year prison term.

Why now?

From "CRIMINAL COMPLAINT - UNITED STATES OF AMERICA V. ROD R. BLAGOJEVICH, and JOHN HARRIS"
www.chicagotribune.com...

108. On November 12, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH talked with one of his Washington D.C.-based advisors. ROD BLAGOJEVICH explained the 501(c)(4) organization idea to the advisor, and that “[the President-elect] gets these Warren Buffett types to [fund it].” The advisor asked ROD BLAGOJEVICH if the 501(c)(4) is a real effort or just a vehicle to help ROD BLAGOJEVICH. ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated that it is a real effort but also a place for ROD BLAGOJEVICH to go when he is no longer Governor. The advisor said he likes the Change to Win idea better, and notes that it is more likely to happen because it is one step removed from the President-elect."

But the most interesting thing was this conversation between Blagejovich and the representative of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU):

109. On November 12, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH spoke with SEIU Official, who was in Washington, D.C. Prior intercepted phone conversations indicate that approximately a week before this call, ROD BLAGOJEVICH met with SEIU Official to discuss the vacant Senate seat, and ROD BLAGOJEVICH understood that SEIU Official was an emissary to discuss Senate Candidate 1’s interest in the Senate seat. During the conversation with SEIU Official on November 12, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH informed SEIU Official that he had heard the President-elect wanted persons other than Senate Candidate 1 to be considered for the Senate seat. SEIU Official stated that he would find out if Senate Candidate 1 wanted SEIU Official to keep pushing her for Senator with ROD BLAGOJEVICH.

ROD BLAGOJEVICH said that “one thing I’d be interested in” is a 501(c)(4) organization. ROD BLAGOJEVICH explained the 501(c)(4) idea to SEIU Official and said that the 501(c)(4) could help “our new Senator [Senate Candidate 1].” SEIU Official agreed to “put that flag up and see where it goes.”

Just how did Governor Blagojevich understand that the "SEIU Official was an emissary to discuss Senate Candidate 1’s interest in the Senate seat?"

Remember, "Senate Candidate 1" was President-Elect Obama's choice for the seat he is vacating. Was the SEIU providing that vital arm's length between Barack Obama and Rod Blagojevich?

How many 501(c)(4) organizations out there are run as pay-me's to guys like Rod Blagojevich who can't live on a salary of $177,000 (of course, as liberal bloggers like to say about the fine people of the UAW, "that includes pension, Medicaid, Social Security withholding.... ")?

How big a sewer is Democratic Party issues advocacy, anyway? I can't believe that a bozo like Rod Blagojevich had an original idea in his life - he has to have heard or known another guy who found a way not to actually work and still make several hundred thousand dollars a year. I think we know where he got the idea of trading political favors for lucrative employment for his wife....

People, this is not "The West Wing." Barack Obama has brought the politics of his father's homeland to us.

Have they even had time to appoint a new governor yet?

For us conspiracy junkies, this guy getting taken down by the feds one day after making himself unpopular is a coincidence too far.

What is clear is that the media has this guy convicted, and ready to drop the trap door and stretch his neck.

This prosecutor is essentially GW's hench man, was assigned to cover Cheney and Rove's tracks when they committed treason against the U.S. and has been leaning on democrats since GW appointed him.

What Blag has done is small potatoes compared to the stuff GW and his crowd pulled while GW was Gov of Texas, getting a sweet deal in the purchase of the Texas Rangers, building a stadium at tax payer expense, and then selling said team for a huge fat profit. GW then let his business partner rob the Texas University fund system. If Blog was a repub, he would have to committ far more to move up in the ranks.

Story on Monday

Illinois Gov. Calls for Pressure on Bank
Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich today called for a boycott to pressure the bank to provide credit and lend support to the workers.

We know yesterday's headline.

Today's headline

Bank of America to Give Credit to Chicago Plant After Employee Sit-In

My guess is that it's business as usual in the windy city. No conspiracy.
If it were a conspiracy, today's headline would have never have happened.

Ill. governor meeting with Obama today
www.connecttristates.com...

Wednesday, November 05, 2008 at 10:39 a.m.

CHICAGO, ILL. -- Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.

That's one of Obama's first priorities today.
He's meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.

Must be short term memory loss, LOL
