Censorship in Norway state broadcast network NRK

I guess this news must be on here, but did not find it. Someone approached our state television to have them do a story on Robbie Williams and ats on Gilliland Ranch.
An unnamed person in NRK told him that "we are not allowed to cover stories about ufo's in the news media in Norway"
Then he was told specifically to NOT call about such things again, and then the call got disconnected.

I mean that considering some of the crap that gets reported as news in our media this would have definitely been newsworthy, therefore this is a grave example of state censorship.

Seems like the Norwegian government has forbidden news about UFOs in all mainstream media, and not just the NRK. I wonder why. And I wonder what other topics might be on their blacklist...

I am sorry, but it is simply not true that NRK does not cover UFOs.

The Hessdalen light phenomena has been covered in a program called "Schrödringers katt" (Schrodinger's cat). Here is a presentation of the coverage in this article at NRK's website, and the headline says:
"Håper Hessdalen-UFO skal havne på tanken" (Hopes that Hessdalen UFO will end up in the fuel tank);

www.nrk.no...

The Hessdalen UFOs has also been discussed in another science program called "Newton":
www.nrk.no...

Also here in a news article at NRK's website:
www.nrk.no...

My guess is that the person who called NRK about Robbie Williams may have come across as... well, a little strange, and that this perhaps was the reason that he was given the rather lame excuse that NRK doesn't cover UFOs.

That may be so, but all your links seem to debunk ufo theories and support
natural explanations. They are also a year old, maybe something has happened in the meantime?
Or maybe the fact that a celebrity like Robbie is involved would give it too much credibility?
Or maybe they were afraid of making Robbie look bad?
I still say censorship.......

i personally dont see where Robbie Williams and ATS on Gilliland Ranch would be considered news. Interesting, but not news. If they were to consider a UFO story, there would be a number of more viable stories they could cover.

I don't see why my links debunks UFO theories at all.

These programs and news reports deal with the Hessdalen phenomena, which is very well known in Norway. They are still referred to at UFOs as long as they have not been explained.

Scientists are trying to find out what these lights are. Until they know for sure, they are still talked about as Unidentified Flying Objects. And since NRK has covered this phenomena, as I have proven, there is no reason to clam sencorship.

Perhaps NRK really wasn't that interested in Robbie Williams and his hunt for UFOs, have you thought about that? The person who tried to get NRK involoved should have contacted some of the weekly tabloid magazines in stead. They write about celebreties all the time, I am sure they wouldn't mind printing a story about Robbie Williams going UFO/USO hunting.

Not complete correct about total sensorship about Rob and ATS in the Norwegian media. I remember seeing a short story about it on TV2 text tv. It was very short and wasnt on the page for so long either. I havent bother to check this up on their site yet. But i may do so later.
But i have to mention a story i came across years ago. i dont have links or proof about it, only in my memory, so take it or leave it.

Reason UFO coverage in Norway is almost total abscent, is the fact that Norway gave up all responsibility on the issue in the early 50`s to the Americans. Total bs maybe, but i still remember the story...

In Norway, UFO is still looked upon as an American phenomenon. Hessdalen is huge abroad, but in my opinion, got wayy to little coverage in Norway.

Here goes: Your first link states that scientists have found the light to contain the rare substances Scandium and Thorveitit. They say that this could mean the end of the world energy crisis. Then it says Bjørn Gitle Hauge is happy that all theories about Hessdalen having nightly visits from outer space is now debunked.

Your second link states 3 times that this has nothing to do with extra terrestrials.

The third link starts with a quote from italian scientist Jader Monari: "None of us believes in flying saucers and small green men.
It then states that this is a combustion process and aforementioned Bjørn Gitle Hauge states that this is a physical fenomenon.

All that aside. Robbie williams is a "friend of Norway" as we say, popular and reoccurring guest on late night shows, therefore I say that this would normally have been newsworthy.

About the man calling in coming across as strange, he is one Peter, a friend of Mark here at ATS so maybe someone else can shed some light on this?

Yes, it is true what you say about the Hessdalen phenomena that the scientists do believe that this is a physical, unknown phenomena.
But the way I read your post, I got the impression that you thought NRK was trying to debunk the UFO phenomena in general. That is not the case.

Here are some more excamples of UFO related cases which has been covered by NRK, I do not have the time to translate everyting, but I will translate the headlines:
"Is this a UFO?"
www.nrk.no...
"KISS star: I saw UFOs"
www.nrk.no...
"This is a UFO"
www.nrksport.no...
"Suspected UFO in Mo i Rana"
www.nrk.no...

There are many, many more news reports and articles. If you understand norwegian, you can go here and find page after page with links:
www.nrk.no...

The only thing which have been debunked here, is your claim of censorship.

(Edit for spelling that didn't make sense... Changed "don't" to "do" in the first sentence.)

The issue is if NRK was censoring in this specific case.

Your link to Kiss's Ace Frehley regarding ufo sighting is exactly why i think that Nrk normally would have picked up this Robbie ATS thing

I understand what you say, but pehaps there was other things in the news at the time that were considered more important that Robbie Williams. I really do not know why this person in NRK didn't want to deal with the story, I can only speculate.

For all I know, the man who claimed that NRK isn't allowed to cover UFO stories could have been the janitor...

(Edit for spelling again... Must learn to write properly...)

No point in speculating perhaps....

I can see it clearly, somewhere deep in the NRK complex sits a janitor....giggling....giggling
