UFO Fired upon

Bright light in the sky, observed for over an hour, followed by a red light which shot up towards it...slightly past it and carried on almost vertically above it in to space.

I live in the channel islands in the UK. Whilst cycling home tonight at approx. 5pm I observed a bright light in the sky too bright to be a star or a planet. It was dark. I watched it for over an hour, during the time it shrank to the size of a typical star then grew over ten times the size I would guess. After about an hour a reddish light shot up from the sea directly at it but slightly missed it, then carried on upwards until I couldn't see it any more.

The light didn't fade, but unfortunately cloud cover stopped me from seeing it any longer.

Any ideas what the hell the red light was? Was it something firing upon this thing in the sky?

This sounds like a very interesting story, at least something worthy of looking into. However, you have not provided any links to the article you have quoted. Please supply one when you have the chance. Thanks.

Sorry, it wasn't a news article, it happened to me tonight. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to put it or or not, but I figured it would get removed if not. I wanted to get some input whether anyone knew what is was or not. Sorry if I shouldn't have put it here...I tried recording it on my phone but nothing came up because its old.

This isn't the first time I've seen something...but it is the first time I've ever seen something 'fire'? on a UFO.

Ok...not that anyone seems to care...I guess the channel Islands aren't too big of a place...but, excuse my grammar...at approx the same time tonight i.e. 5pm, 2 bright objects in the sky flew over head and disappeared. One of them looked like the same thing from last night.

A few years back, there was a sighting by pilots and crew members of oblong shaped crafts between Guernsey and Jersey. These were HUGE crafts that were observed by many people.

It seems to me like out here in the middle of nowhere there are lots of sightings but no one pays attention.

Hello! I have seen things 2 nights in a row...and I have seen more than this over the last few months.

Where is the coverage???? These sightings are everyday occurrences here.

So you are looking for support by creating a fake news article? That's not a very good start.

Where is the coverage you ask? You tell me, where is your video camera? If this isn't the first time something has happened I would expect you to be more prepared.

Well...it's not a news article...but as I said earlier I'm not sure where to post this. If everything that was put on this site was down to the news then I would have serious doubts about it's authenticity.

I'm sorry for being just an average person who reports on a UFO sighting.
I apologise for not carrying my camera with me 24 hrs a day.
I sincerly regret my decision in telling a TRUTHFUL story that happened to me, as has likely happened to many people.

I see things, as many people do. I don't know where to tell people that thruth, but here seems like a start. I'm not a liar. I just wanted to let the world know something...that is out there. Forgive me if my eyes offend you, because if they do, then I'm insane. And if I'm insane then the air I breath is made of cyanide...because poison is the only thing that can pollute my vision....

No it's not a news article. It's a 100% view of a person staring in to the ******* sky with nothing to gain.

*Snip*!

Jesus... indifferent... centrifugal... give nexakill a *Snip* break.

I have seen a couple of UFOs and it hasn't made me carry a camera around more often than I did before for three reasons.

- The time difference between sightings, the thought that seeing a UFO one night doesn't mean you'll see it the next.

- It's not practical to carry a camera around everywhere you go.

- It would be impossible to convince the narrow minds on here anyway, so why bother? I know I wouldn't.

Get off your high horses and at least be grateful for what nexakill has reported. Saying he's creating a fake news article is just rubbish.

people get uptight my friend because we and they have to sift through so many attention seeker's stories. It is hard to keep an open mind when there is nothing to back anything up and a new poster to boot.
The more mundane a story or idea is then the less flack you will get but if you have a good one like "ufo fired upon" that is going to draw some attention and very little room to bs something.
....look at the threads created by "Internos" the dude has dotted the i's and crossed his t's before he posts.
You might have titled this.."gee, I saw something neat today" and avoided the stoning.
You should now be motivated to throw this in some people's faces so throw that camera around your neck and do some ufo hunting.
I wish you luck and hope you are the one that proves it all to the world.

This IS the place to start with the info you are presenting, after all isn't that what ATS is all about? Don't mind the naysayers, there are far more people who would like to hear your story than there are who will criticize you.
Thanks for sharing and have a great night.

If someone is giving you *SNIP* just hit 'IGNORE This User' below there Avatar.. You'll never see anything they post again... There two or three dozen posters I deleted out weeks ago... anyways..

Now the red light that went up was it a Laser beam?? Maybe some sort of "energy bullet?? If you have time go to Youtube and search STS "dam I forgot the STS #! "where the UFO gets shot at from Pine Gap... See if it looked something like that.
Another question.... Did you see the UFO try to EVADE the Shot?? Also was there any Noise with the shot? Also did (the Red Beam) light up the area around you?? Sorry to ask so many questions I'm just interested in details.

You saw a once in a lifetime event I believe.. You would have freaked if that beam had hit "it" and you saw it crash...

sounds to be like a tracer from a machinegun or something, did you heard any gun fire at all?

a .50cal can be heard from miles away.

I live in lancashire, England and there are red beams being fired into the sky everynight. They are from a tower in Darwen I think and its nothing to worry about. Just decoration, but quite impressive. Maybe this light was something similar.

Hi...sorry I didn't reply back, I was slightly put off by the critisism I took. I know, you should take the bad as well as the good, but it was pretty offensive when I was only being honest.

I was followed for over an hour by something in the sky when I was about 14 so I'm very open to the things I see...and yes I do spend alot of time looking at the stars waiting for something to happen again. I admit it is very rare and only happens ever so often, but sometimes it can't be explained. I'm a logical, rational person, who believes 95% in science so when I see something...I see something.

The thing the other night was weird...I couldn't tell if the object in the sky moved out of the path of the red beam...but it did pulsate...and the strange thing is the next day I saw 2 bright lights moving across the sky from the same position. At first I thought only one of the lights in the sky from the day before was a 'UFO', however there was a smaller one above it that I assumed was a star.

I tried to follow the objects, but hey, a bike can only move so fast.

Thanks for the people who actually acknowledged what I said and didn't try flaming me. I don't see the point in lying about this when so many people doubt what you say anyway.

One day it will all come out and I can't wait...I can't wait to say to everyone who calls me a freak for telling them what I have seen 'I bloody well told you so'.

P.S Not that it's important...but I'm a girl...just to rectify a comment on my gender throw in there.
