Best deal on night vision weapon sight?

Good afternoon, all.

I was wondering if any ATS'ers had any experience with night vision weapon sights. I see alot out there and frankly the price range is mind-boggling.

I was wondering if the $2000 stuff was going to be incrementally or exponentially better than the $300 russian surplus?

Once again I have zero experience with this gear, and don't know who else to ask.

The Russian kit on the market - especially in the UK, is either 1st or 2nd generation kit and not up to much.

Stay away from ex-military kit. In my view, it is an almost pointless exercise to purchase this eqpt because being ex-military it will, at some stage, need servicing.

I suggest you purchase night vision devices that are commercially available to the civilian shooter.

Please bear in mind that you get what you pay for. In this case, quality does cost money and for safety's sake, it will be money well spent.
