Hey all.
Today I was looking out of my window, in Wellingborough Northamptonshire England, at a very bright star, and I was wondering if perhaps it could be a
planet, as it was getting dusk, and it was very bright and the only star in the sky. I also noticed it didn't twinkle, which I thought was odd.
Anyway, as I was looking at the star, a black, oddly shaped object started gliding over my house. I really couldn't tell how high it was, although it
looked to be quite small and fairly low, it may well have been a lot higher and bigger, I just really couldn't tell.
What I did notice was an aeroplane flying much higher in the sky, so it was definitely much lower than that.
As I said it was a very odd shape, sort of boomerang shape, and seemed to be rotating, as it rotated I did see what seemed to be a light on the back
of it. A very small light.
At first I thought it was a balloon, and it still could well be, but two things confuse me about it. The light I mentioned only appeared each time it
rotated and in the same place each time. I'd have thought that if it was a reflection that I'd see the light all the time as it kept turning, but I
didn't, it was in the same place each time.
The other odd thing about this, is that although not travelling all that fast, it was still moving very quickly. The wind here today is hardly
noticeable. The trees etc around me aren't really blowing in the wind much, but it only took this thing probably 15 seconds from flying over my house
to being a dot a long way away until I couldn't see it any more.
As I said, I only had about 15 seconds, but I did grab my phone and take a snap shot. By the time I had grabbed my phone it was quite far away, but I
could still see it when I took the picture, although I couldn't see it on the camera viewfinder.
As soon as I couldn't see the object any more I uploaded the picture from my phone onto my computer, but it seems it didn't capture the object. I
can't see it on the picture even when I zoom in.
My phone is a cheap Samsung one, and only has a 1.3 megapixel camera, the light wasn't great either.
Although I still hold a tiny shred of hope that some image expert may be able to sharpen the picture enough to maybe get something out of it?
I know it's doubtful, but it's maybe worth a shot, I don't know.
here's the picture.

If there's anything more I can do to help, please let me know.
Thanks to anyone who gives this a shot, and if there's anyone living around Northamptonshire, did you maybe see this? It was travelling roughly South
from here.
And out of interested, does anyone know if the star I mentioned is a planet? It's very bright still, with a smaller star north east above it.
They're the only two stars I can see in this light (4:50pm GMT)
Thanks again!
