The EAS is the Emergency Alert System, which replaced the old EBS system over 10 years ago. This system performs tests on a weekly basis, as well as a monthly basis and is required by the FCC for every primary EAS designated station.

These tests have been conducted ever since the EAS system was started, and the frequency of these tests do not increase nor do they decrease.

The weekly tests are done once every 7 days, but not necessarily on the same day each week or at the same time, they just have to occur within 7 days of each test.

The monthly required tests are done on a regular schedule, once per month, on a certian day, and at a certian time.

The BBC used have a national emergency broadcast system based underground Near Corsham / Box in Wiltshire south west England (not that far from Stonehenge/Avebury/Bath/Bristol). You can find photos etc on the WEB, look up BOX tunnel and underground bases and corsham computer center. I will track it down, there are freely available photos of the old now unused broadcast studio amongst the tunnels. This complex was used since WWII and right up through the cold war and "Thatcher years"
The BBC has a new emergency national broadcast system, location unknown and they tested it using Radio 4 earlier this year (I think it was June time, not sure)- we heard the test with our own ears . They did it as part of a show. they said openly that they were testing the new national emergency facilities and they could not say where they are broadcasting from except that it was secret and very secure !, and if they broadcast from there again - it would mean that we are in trouble... They can directly interrupt all Radio and terrestrial TV broadcast - and I strongly expect they have "an understanding" with SKY (satellite TV), and Virgin (was NTL & Telewest cable TV) to immediately switch in there too if they needed to.
From other sources that can only be considered rumour... A lot of underground military facilities based in the south of the UK are gradually being replaced with ones further north e.g. Yorkshire, because of increased seismic activity in the south, and because the southern ones are getting old and in need of a lot of maintenance. The “rumour" is that the BBC got its new national emergency facilities along with the build of one of these new bases - suspected underground in Yorkshire...

I have longed thought that the EBS does more than alerting the public of a disaster. Though I cannot place it, there's something devious about it. In my whole life, and probably yours, I don't recall a time when it was useful --they didn't initiate it during JFK, or Chicago riots, no hurricanes, none of the massive tornadic outbreaks over the last 20 years, not 911 --have they ever?

If Coke and popcorn sales rose dramatically during their little subliminal experiments of the late 1950's in the movie theaters, imagine what tones embedded deep within the human psyche can do after a period of let's say 20 years.

We all know that visuals and audios can spark dramatic emotions and feelings as memories flood the surface when presented within the minds framework at an unexpected time.

What will be the unexpected time? The Conchita Gonzalez "Warning from God?" The anti-Christ speaking to all telepathically to fool all he's God? And what will be our action upon hearing it?

Now that they're becoming more frequent, I'd say that the cattle need to be steered through the corrals, or at least, helped along the way, and perhaps hearing this tone, or series of tones, is keeping a channel open, but that channel isn't in our TVs or radios.

It's all graffiti on the walls of our minds.

well, not only with the EBS have I noticed alot more, however what is even more intresting is the fire station alerts going off when the stations get a call, they sound EXACT ALLY like the military version of an air raid siren!

Freaked me out the first time I heard it and looked stright up waited for 30+ mins for TV to go into EBS mode... nada.. LOL.. no bomb and after a couple more times later on in the months to follow I figured it out.

At least that's what I think it was .. unless they are testing a new air raid siren ?? ??

The frequency of the tests isn't what scares me, it's the fact that there is no indication that it's not a test. It just interrupts normal broadcasting with that God awful noise, and then back to normal programming. It used to say something like this before "The folllowing is a test of the EBS, in a real emergency, a broadcast would follow this alert with information regarding the emergency" BRBRBBZBZBZBTBTBSBZBTBZBTZBTBZBTB "This was a test of the EBS, etc.." But now you just hear it without the warning that it's a test and it's kind of freaky.
