Why do Americans always think they can invade Canada en masse if the SHTF in their country?

Do you honestly think we'd let you in?

You Yanks are already a Massive burden on our Healthcare system coming here for "free" treatment, which is paid for by our tax dollars - stealing from us, not to mention the tens of thousands of American Homeless we care for.... goddamn border jumpers.

They should all be deported. They are billion-dollar strain on our weak, puny economy and they are ungrateful too.. until they get hurt or sick; then the Yanks come running to Dear Old Canada begging us to save them.

I wonder how many Canadian have died because some stupid American was taking up space in the Operating Room - or otherwise distracting the doctors from saving the very Canadians who pay their Salary.

That's right - Canadians Come first.

Sh*t flows uphill in this case.

Just consider us the "wetbacks" crossing the border to get your benefits.

I would only go to Canada if I really had to go there.

I've met a few people from Canada online and I've talked to them online and I think they're fairly smart and good to talk to. I wouldn't mind going there because I would like to think I'd fit right in.

Basically, us liberals like to threaten conservatives that we'd go to Canada if their person gets in because Republicans tend to go against everything we stand for, unless they're good. Like Bush, Bush did a terrible job for the last 8 years so we got afraid of him really and how he would ruin our country.

And you can count on a failing Canadian economy if the US economy fails - with 3/4 of our exports going to our neighbours to the south, and over half of our imports coming from them. To suggest there would be no impact is ludicrous.

That's crap. Our product is in high demand. The U.S. merely pays the most for it. If they were no longer a customer all those liberated resources would be going out across the world. I'm willing to bet Japan would buy half of those those exports. Of course all the world would be hit, but in this scenario it's the U.S. that's tanking. The world will quickly work to adjust.

But by the time U.S. exports are reduced by this catastrophe, we would be getting them from other sources. South America would boom with its vast oil supplies, which are at the moment constrained by technological development, the personal interests of dictatorships and OPEC itself.

The world is constantly on the move. Canada's worries would be rather temporary.
