Im gonna have to agree with the other Floyd fans, the Wall and Dark Side are some of the most important albums in rock history.

Also, Black Sabbath We Sold are Soul for Rock and Roll.

And all of the Tool albums.

Here's my personal favorite:

Oasis - Definitely Maybe

The Strokes - Is This It

The Libertines - The Libertines

I love 'Is This It', but can't help thinking it's a bit over-rated. First Impressions Of Earth is a better album imho, but it gets no recognition.

Libertines, fantasic shout. Them and the Strokes probably the most influential bands of the decade.

I wouldn't say overrated, but it is my least favourite Strokes album. I agree that First Impressions is the best, Ize Of The World is just too cool for school.

Have you heard Julians solo album? Or Alberts?

The Libertines were outrageously good, while they lasted

Petes solo stuff and Babyshambles stuff is still great I reckon.

One I love is titled Boston and is by Boston. They jammed slap out and I think definitely measured on the rock meter. When I brought my first electric guitar home the first solo I tried to pick out was a Boston song- Foreplay long time.

The lead singer had an incredible high voice, their harmony's were great, the guitar solos I just feel were phenomenal. Any time I here Rock and Roll Band my radio goes full blast or any of their songs really.

Although I agree that all the albums you listed are fantastic, I have to say that Dark Side of the Moon reigns supreme amongst all albums.

But thanks for reminding me of a few that I have forgotten over the years.

Yeah I have Julians solo album, it pretty good. Not quite 'strokes' good, but very listenable. Not heard much of AHJnr's stuff, just the odd track which I've found pretty decent.
Have you heard Nick Valenci's band, Little Joy? They've got some good tunes too.
I think the solo projects of various Strokes members highlight that although they're all good, the sum of their talents is greater than the individual's.

I haven't heard anything from Little Joy, I'll have to check them out.

Can't wait to see them live again and hear some new stuff......

In a recent interview with Spin Magazine, they asked,"You've been back in the studio with the strokes recently, right?" to which Casablancas responded, "We've been in and out of the studio for the past six or seven months. We had 20 songs or something but I still don't know what's going on to be honest."

On November 30th 2009 The Strokes were confirmed to play The Isle Of Wight festival, headlining the main stage on June 12th. This will be The Strokes first gig as a band since 2006. On December 2nd the band were also revealed as a headliner at Scotland's RockNess festival.

I'm going to see Julian live this Friday, can't wait!
