CRICKY.....This is in the Northern Territory. So what are we going to do with all this new uranium – nuclear power stations or bombs. Let’s hope we don't let the wrong people get hold of it.

Now Western Australia
Also a headline…. W.A ENDS ban on uranium mining.
The Liberal-National Government has lifted a ban on uranium mining in Western Australia.

www.news.com.au...

Nuclear energy is the only large-scale and commercially viable option for producing electricity without at the same time producing massive amounts of greenhouse gases.

Look like well have more than we’ll need for a while.

Is this good or bad?

Im not against Nuclear power but at the same time we are surrounded by ocean's why cant we harness the perpetual motion of the water and leave the uranium where it is?

Uranium mining is destructive short term, but once the tailings settle it's no different than it's natural state really. It may be even more dangerous leaving the ore in the ground overall.

It's the only solution that is viable, immediate & safe -if the right precautions (IAEA standards) are taken.

Australia & eastern Canada are looking to be the mass energy providers of the near future.

Oz definitely are the leaders in uranium, Canada a close second.

Uranium mining to be regulated
Link

Snip

"I'm not going to start speculating on the number of mines. Our job is to apply the proper regulatory approaches under EPBC Act (Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999) and that's what we'll do.

Would the companies have special scanners so when the worker leaves for the day-word shift so the company can see or not if the worker does (five finger discount) on a small piece of Uranium...You go home and found out the batteries in the remote is dead. What do you do? You take out the piece of Uranium that you pickup from work and gently place it in to where the batteries go.
