Chrysler leaders get millions

www.freep.com

As Detroit's crumbling auto industry asks Congress for a bailout, Chrysler is in the awkward position of paying about $30 million in retention bonuses to keep top executives while the company cuts thousands of jobs.

Chrysler owes the bonuses under its contracts with about 50 executives, based on a retention incentive plan crafted early last year by former German parent DaimlerChrysler, when it was preparing to sell the Chrysler unit.

Nancy Rae, Chrysler executive vice president for human resources and communications, said the move made sense at the time to ensure potential buyers that key Chrysler executives would remain in place after a sale. She acknowledged that the bonuses could be seen as controversial now.

Controversial, for sure! The article lists 6 exec who get the largest bonuses and how much they are getting. Wow. I don't understand they can ask to be bailed out, and then turn around and give away 30 million to execs, and cuts thousands of blue collar jobs. What good is the company with all fat cat execs and no workers?

This is really screwed up.

Man, this got buried fast! I thought for sure you all would find this as outrageous as I do. I know there's a lot of new threads on the board, but someone's find this as crazy as I do.

Come on america, when are you actually going to put all those firearms to good use.

Or are you content to just polish them and shoot at bits of paper and helpless wildlife!

When is the action gonna start?

Why don't you start by shooting the crap out of those gas-guzzling 4x4s.

Or is it still....

Although I fully agree, I do not see the need to resort to shooting these fat bastards, a grevious beating would suffice, they would be walking talking living examples of what will happen tot hose who turn into greedy pigs at the regular guys expense. Might serve as a deterent in future when someone is contemplating paying out millions to worthless fat cats.

How about running them over in one of their own 4x4s then?

Ya...

This is insane...

But is like the 10th thing like this to happen in the last 6 months...

if we don't get worked up, while people steal 2 trillion from the treasury... why would we even bother to comment on 30 million...

Its just 30 million...

Thats nothing to these big fat cats...

Im surprised that thats all they got was 30 million...

resort to shooting these fat bastards

Funny you say that...

Ever seen the old, and i mean OLD story/book/cartoon/film Animal Farm

Probaly the best cartoon i have ever seen. Im not exactly sure what year this came out, in the 50s i think...

Best thing ever. I would get it on DVD if i ever saw it

* it may be a bit too slow, or invole a little too much tinking, and concentration for todays generations... But it is indeed a timeless classic.

ANd if you have an hour. Watch it. It will have you rivited.

But devote an hour. Don't be doing other stuff watching it. Take the entire peice in.

In the pass, the people of hollywood made great films...

Now, its noting more then a pipeline of filth.

I suggest getting a nice snack, a drink, and watch the move straight... Enjoy it take it in.

Cancel the bonuses.

If the execs don't like it, they can leave.

I'm betting that few will depart from a cushy well paying job....

Something BIG is happening over there and this is all part of the old "rats leaving a sinking ship" scenario.

They KNOW things are going to change drastically and the fat-cats are grabbing what they can and running. They feed themselves and eachother knowing this.

Thing is....where can they hide when it hits the fan. Will you be one of their good neigbours or will you expose them and their greed?

How much can you take and when are you going to act?

Or will you still buy their crappy cars and trucks, pay their overpriced running costs and fill them with their over-priced fuel?

Those execs should be darn happy they even have a job! You're right, they should cancel the bonuses.

Haha that film looks good, somehow that old pig is making me think of Churchill (the advert dog and the leader) rofl.

Nerbot, they will be heading for London or other parts of old Europe. Thing is, if I ever see some flash fat pig in my hometown and I can see he is American, I will make damn sure he has a few less teeth to look so smug with. Afterall they are takin cash from you guys and living in luxury while the US goes to #.
