It's a question for people who know more about the E.U., the U.N. and their networks,
their policies and missions.
Does it seem rather redundant to have them both?
Are they, basically the same entity?
Are they ever opposed to each other?
Thanks!
While they can have more in common when you think there is a conspiracy behind it, but generally they are two different things. EU is more like a
confederation of countries (more and more aligned with each other). UN is a loose organization (yet...)

Yes they are. While American leaders called for "New World Order", recently president Sarkozy called for tightening of economic cooperation. And, he
said, euro could be a new global currency. Many sites are writting about this.
It's funny, because only recently did our leaders (Poland) called for introducing euro sooner than later. It should be operational uhm before 2011.
It's irrational since we are in deep trouble already since we try to host the 2012 soccer euro championship and introducing euro that early will just
make it all even more daunting.
they are probably pushing for early introduction because it's a boon for business, they all round their prices up so they make a fortune for the
first six months or so.
clearskies, the UN has it's head quarters in New York, it probably does have offices in Brussels but that doesn't mean there's any major link,
other than the strong influence the UN has generally.
