I clearly remember that there use to be a blogging area at ATS, but now I can't find it.

I also did a search to see if and when this capability was removed.

If I remember correctly, you needed a certain number of points to start a blog, and that was one of the few reasons I had for gaining points.

What is the story here? Are ATS Blogs gone forever?

I get it.

Zero interests in ATS blogs.

Thanks anyway.

Actually, I think I remember something similar. I also would be interested in having a blog of my own on here too.

Perhaps they were removed or temporarily taken away due to lack of overall interest? Or perhaps lack of space on the servers?

Dunno. Hope you get your answer.

I asked the same question a little while ago: www.abovetopsecret.com...

I think they're gone for good.

Thanks for the comments guys.

After a fair amount of experimentation, I discovered the following:

Click on "Contact" at the bottom of the page, then click "Member Blogs" at the bottom of the contact page.

You are taken to "blog.abovetopsecret.com" -- which is not found.

So I guess the answer is that blog capability no longer exists here.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who would like to blog here. Perhaps if there is enough member interest?

I have some information that exceeds the 3000 word limit for a forum, I do not want to post it on one of my websites, as the information is world changing and could get me undesirable attention, I figure a link in the forum to my Blogg would allow me to reveal this information.

Hi Ishma, welcome to ATS.

The 3000 limit is just because you are new. The more you post the bigger the limit.
The best thing to do if you have something lengthy to say is just to use more than one post to write it down.

That way we can see everything here, ok?

I remember there was a technical problem with the blogs and it took a long time to fix it,but I'm guessing it was finally realized that it couldn't be fixed.
ZeddicusZulZorander should know about this.

Luckily I found a way to view those old blogs on the Internet Archive The Wayback Machine.
Just put blog.abovetopsecret.com... in the search box.

It's a shame they had to be gone though, there were some really good blogs.

Here you go,

As quoted by SO,

The software upon which the blogging system was based had become irreparably damaged through a combination of poor spam prevention, and a large database. Apparently the software had difficulty managing the quantity of blogs we were attempting to host.

Also, in looking for an alternative, we've been unable to find a satisfactory multi-blog solution that is also within a reasonable price range. If anyone has suggestions for packages we've not considered... I'm wide-open.
