We, as human beings, have the free will to believe what we wish. It does not matter how ridiculous to some it might sound. Unfortunately, those same beliefs that each person has will always trample on someone else’s. Those beliefs take the form of opinions when one expresses them, yes?

We, as a society will never “move forward” when it comes to one acceptance or another. Sure, anything that’s material (be it science or even "thoughts") will advance the world to a new thinking/view but not beliefs.

An example: Proposition 8 (the ban on gay marriage).

The majority have voted on banning gay marriages, but there’s also a large group of people who believe it’s unconstitutional for the government to do that. The people are restless. So let’s say the gov. overturn those votes which will bring happiness to the group who was opposed to it at the beginning. Now the others who supported banning the marriages will be restless. Once again, people will do something about it. The whole cycle will start all over again.

Beliefs is what makes a person. Beliefs is what makes a person be disliked.

The world is full of them.

Does time really help open the eyes to acceptance? Yes and No.

Those that come from a “root” will never be changed. There will be pockets around the world that will hold on to them, believing that they themselves know are doing the right thing by disagreeing with what the world is saying is “right.”

Who is to know whether they might be right? Without having the world telling you so?

New “rules” get created. Beliefs will get stepped on.

There’s just NO WAY in this world that everyone will be happy. That’s why I believe there will never be peace on earth, unless something drastic happens (by drastic, I do not mean natural disasters or wars).

The only way to even force a belief down someone’s throat is by making it into a law. Such a nasty thing to do, but that will be the only way to “accept” them.

Well, one of the problems in the world today is that everyone wants to be right. The truth is....everyone is not right. As a matter of fact, when it comes to the full scheme of things, we are all wrong.

Our limited consciousness does not permit us to be right, and certainly not right with any degree of certainty. Why people can't just accept this is beyond me.

Ask someone who has had there life ruined by people, if freewill exists?

Free will is bull, you come into this world, and if your soft, people will destory you and your life. The police are just there to murder anyone on a whim, of some mental person, who made stuff up.

Anyone thinking there will be peace in a world with america, is kidding themselves.

The world is for beasts to destroy there victims. Thats all our world is, so stop running around talking about stupid peace, and all that.

Stop being so pessimistic.
Cheer up, take a walk and start to appreciate the nice things that are going on around you at that moment. You'll feel happier. Don't take my word for it, try it.

Errr.... did I say there will ever be peace?

Uh. No. I wrote WHY there will NEVER be PEACE.

I believe YOU are the only ONE who create the life you live. The only thing is YOU have to adjust to the WORLD you are living. YOU can make the experience to be GOOD or BAD. The CHOICE is REALLY YOURS.

It pisses me off to no end when people blame the way their life is going just because they were unfortunate enough to live in a situation that's not good.

Everyone has an OPTION to either suffer or show the WORLD you won't conform.

Fee will is bull,

This part I tend to agree with. While I would like to believe in the concept of "free will," thirty-one years of experience tells me that it's a false concept. I actually had a thread on this topic not too long ago...

Concept is a lie

After many years of experience and observation, I have just about come to the conclusion that what we do is determined by circumstance and conditioning. There is not much "free" about that...

I love your outlook on life! *dripping sarcasm there*

Man, I feel sorry for you. I really do. I won't claim to understand or know where you are coming from in order to have developed such feelings but I can admit that they are pretty sad.

As for the OP, I must agree that there really is no chance as long as certain societies exist. For example, the gay marriage issue. As long as there is organized Christian/Judaic based religions there will never be full acceptance of the fact that people should be allowed to CHOOSE HOW THEY LIVE THEIR LIFE! The problem is, you will always get the egos saying that they simply KNOW BETTER than you and that they are doing it to SAVE YOUR SOUL! I'm sorry, but until that is removed from society there will indeed never be any true peace.

Anyone who thinks freewill exists, i would just laugh in there face, lol.

In a world where it takes one mental policeman or mental person in the public, to wreck your life, where is the free will in that.

The free will part comes, in how you go against all that rubbish and try to build something for yourself. People can make it impossible for anyone to do anything with there lifes.

Ask someone, who lives next door to people using microwave weapons on them night and day, does free will exist. Or people living with gang stalking, does free will exist.

If you step outside the norm of the country you live in, you may find out that people would go to great lengths to destroy you.

If you do not believe that, maybe you are just a sheep. Sorry for being too forceful, but freewill bull, is something that really gets to me, when i see the world we live in.

I'm thinking that your concept of free will and my concept of free will are two different things.

We will NEVER be able to control what happens to us at the efforts of others. That is life. Lions stalk gazelle but the gazelle still has the choice to graze the grass where the lions den is.

The people getting killed by the police still have their choices that led them to that place. The cop still has the free will to choose to be less than human by killing or abusing that person.

Sure, our environment will affect many of our choices but we still ultimately MAKE the choices that we do. You choose to go to work by your own free will.

No way! You say? Well, you can choose to live off the land and remove yourself from money and society altogether. That's free will my friend. And yes, you can still do that if you choose.

Just because many people don't choose to act on their situations to move away from these terrible events and terrible people that oppress them does not mean they have no free will.

Compromise

That’s when everybody gets a little of what they want and nobody is happy about it.

That’s what everybody will have to deal with, No one is always right and no one is completely wrong.
If I believe in something whole heartily and it is perceived as wrong from the majority I will have to compromise to get at least something I desire.

Not everybody can always get exactly what they want. That’s not how the world works.!

LOL even when people get exactly what they want they are not happy because the next design or theory or point of view comes down the pike and changes everything.

I agree man is incapable of peace ....especially modern day mankind who is spoiled beyond belief ...they believe they are the only ones who matter ....and the world revolves around them .....they want their way in the here and now and no one else matters....
Which is why a UTOPIAN world does not exist and will not exist...it just will not work no matter what mankind does or wants to do etc etc ....
So its just all talk ....

That is it in a nutshell ...

People can talk all day long about tolerance etc ...but no one wants to tolerate anyone when the chips are down and its time to actually put that into action (It is all words with no actions ) ......

All the speeches etc of doing things for the good of mankind for all peoples as a whole is IMPOSSIBLE ...because peoples consist of ALL KINDS of beliefs and wishes and wants and desires etc ...so no way can even some of the people be pleased even some of the time .........

If you pass one law to please one crowd of people then you would have to pass another law to please the other crowd of people ..then all of the people in between would not be pleased ..etc etc etc etc ....

Not gonna happen ...not in this lifetime ..

Sorry, not a sheep here

Whether one believes free will exists or not, it's up to the person.

It's just another belief amongst the millions out there.

And I respect that, because that's you (geh, I'm coming off too perky.)

Come to think about it, are we actually owned?

^that's a bit of sarcasm there

You have a very good point there.

We, as humans, are too diverse.

Unlike animals, we don't have the "inner rules" that will make us a pack.

"Politics cannot begin to put the connecting tissue back in society. It is ill-equipped to reconstruct traditional moral beliefs. The best policies cannot recover courtship or marriage, make fathers responsible for their children, restore shock or shame where it once existed . . . The vast majority of moral problems that trouble us cannot be eradicated by law."

Words of a former U.S. government aide.

That's just like Obama says, "I can't make you turn off the television and raise your child." There are some things that the government just cannot fix.

No police can murder plenty of innocent people. How many so called mentally handicapped people are and where on death row, and did nothing.

Police murder anyone they want, just because they make stuff up, does not make it real.

People can make sure you make absolute nothing of your life, and thats what gang stalking does, and it is real. Do you think anyone has any chance, in a world where people beleive anything made up about them.

Do you not understand, that police commit murder, against plety of innocent people who have never done anything. They never did anything to bring those people into there lifes.

Irish people where picked up 250 miles away from bombs going of in england years ago, just because the police needed to pick up some irish people and charge them with the bombings. What did those people do, to deserve spending most of there life in jail. There are countless cases where the police just pick on people for no reason, and want to destroy there lifes.

well, let me see if i can simplify this.

peace and hate are one in the same thing. you cant love someone, or hate someone, without the other existing, and then at the end of the day, both emotions are completely subjective, regardless of societies outlook on what is good or bad, etc..

you almost should say, thank you, hate, for you have given me the opportunity to find out what i truly love, for without you, i dont even think i can fathom a world with only one point of view to work with. how could i learn in such a world. thank you, hate, you have created some rough times for me, but you pushed me further than i thought, and now i live my life having good times everyday, because you allowed me to seek what truly makes me happy.

see, thats nice. problem is subjectivity. there will always be people who can program themselves enough to be able to commit acts we would consider horrible, by most society standards, but to them its a good thing, or something they "love" to do.

subjectivity brings about problems, for there is no right or wrong way to do things, only what you believe is right or wrong. you might die for your beliefs, if its a million vs one,but the mere fact that such a thing exist in our reality, "subjectivity", gives room to continually find a way to break even the strongest of societies barriers. an overwhelming task to compete against.

people say, america is this, and americans are that, but america is the way it is, because thats how its people are for the most part. even the high and mighty ones have their skeletons, hence why many will rant behind closed doors, but dont want to take to the streets, for subconsciously they know what theyre guilty of, and it prevents full on action.

dont worry yourself. just be happy, and try to help those in need of a pep me up, and spread the good word, for spreading negativity will not help bring peace and tolerance to the world anyway. humans get bored, and no matter what you do,we will find a way to mix things up. someone might do it just for fun, because they can. these people are called tricksters.

enjoy your life. you could be one of those kids with an ak47 in africa somewhere, not being able to sit down behind a computer and type away your thoughts, and then go to youtube and laugh at cats doing funny things. you should be grateful, and you should take it personal that you have granted yourself, or been granted the opportunity to be able to make a change.

there are many who dont have the opportunity to just google their problems to help them fix their issues, or walk to the local borders to pick up a nice book on socialism, human behavior, biology, political conspiracies, etc.. hell, alot of countries have blocks on what their users can even view on the internet. be grateful, and take that emotion and try to make a change.
