I think it's a valid concept, that beings could evolve differently than us and not see the visible spectrum of light and therefore not see it as a huge "red flag" to us on the ground. Stars have gravity wells and probably 30 or so other emissions other than visible light that could be used to detect them, so no, being able to see visible light is not necessarily a detriment to space travel or interstellar travel for that matter. I also take issue with your "certainty" that they exist "at all" much less that they are inter-dimensional travelers or able to travel over interstellar distances. If you have some kind of mainline proof that aliens exist, or the nature of them, by all means show us. You'll end up being one of the most famous people in Human history.....
