I have never voted , but this is a good thing

I think you forgot to edit your post and add the *IN MY OPINION* after the above.

Do you have any idea how many people all over the world fight and die for the right to vote? How many servicemen and women in the USA have (supposedly) fought and died so OTHER people could vote?

Not to vote - in my opinion - gets you only one thing - the right for your voice NOT to be heard.

People that don’t vote have no right (IMHO) to gripe and moan about an establishment they took NO active stand in either supporting or rejecting - regardless if their candidate wins or looses - falls victim to a fraudulent election.

Sorry to disappoint, but a great deal of my support for Obama comes from exactly that he is different than Bush. McCain could have had my vote, but he has not presented a credible case that he will do anything different.

Bush and his 'administration' has been a complete disaster for my country.

People blather on and on regarding "Democrats tax and spend", while for the last 8 years we have had a drunken monkey spending money as fast as it can be printed, without a related increase in revenue... be it from taxes or anything else. Not even a government, or an economy as powerful as ours once was can spend money like that. And now we are in the position of such nice folks as the Chinese gov't owning a good share of US debt. Great. Just wonderful.

Bush has singlehandedly alienated most of the civilized world. Yeah, again people go on about "who cares, we don't need them, blah blah blah blah". Well, if we assume the GWOT is real (on which I also have signifcant doubt), then having actual, real cooperation from the rest of the civilized world would help in that effort. Bush, with his arrogance and personal insecurity have pretty much ruined any chance of that.

Bush has established torture as an official policy of the US. Good job.

Bush has been caught lying so often that if it was noon in June in Phoenix, AZ and Bush said it was hot outside, I'd go out to check myself. And if it did turn out to be hot, I'd wonder what Bush was trying to hide by saying so.

Bush has politicized many gov't agencies that are by design a-political. DOJ is the most egregious example, but there are plenty more (DOI, FEMA, etc).

I could go on and on. McCain has not presented a credible case that he will behave any differently. Having watched McCain's descent from a relatively honorable politician to what he is today has eliminated any chance I would support him.

Obama has presented at least a case that he will do things differently. And he has been smeared beyond belief for it. Everything from Terrorist to Socialist and most in between. And every single one of these smears has been proven false. At this stage of the game, any new such claims about Obama require extraordinary evidence to support, or they are dismissed out of hand.

I disagree with Obama on several issues, and I fully realize I may be yet again disappointed - I have had uniformly low opinions of virtually every president in my politically aware life, so if Obama matches that, it won't be any huge surprise.

But he at least talks the talk, and I for one am more than happy to give him a chance to walk the walk.

I was a Ron Paul supporter until he dropped out, even though I also disagree with him on several issues. But he's out of it.

So yeah, at this point, I am supporting Obama. I'm willing to give him a chance. My support started as a "he's not Bush", and has grown over the months due to my research of his policies.

I don't agree with Obama completely, and I have no illusions he is some sort of Messiah. He may or may not be a good eomployee for my country. But I am fully convinced McCain will continue the disaster we are on.
