What is the truth behind the alleged Chemtrails that are visibly apparent when looking to the skies? Jet Contrails have never left behind the thick lingering effect which is now increasingly visible on a regular basis. Is there an Official explanation for this phenomena? Or Official denial of it.

I witness this phenomena at least 3 to 4 times a week in the midwest and beleive something is being disbursed into the air intentionally. I see jet planes simultaneously at equal altitudes emitting normal Contrails which disipate approx 1 mile behind the jet, and jets which emit alleged Chemtrails lasting maybe 50 miles or more that do not disipate but rather swell and drop creating a haze within an hour later. What are the facts behind this?

You can't tell for certain that they're at the same altitude unless you're tracking them somehow. Two planes can look at the same altitude but be 2000 feet or more apart. That 2000 feet can be the difference between a contrail, and no contrail.

As for the contrail lingering those are called persistant contrails. They've been around since at least WWII. They can last for hours and then turn into cloud cover. It may be that the plane leaving the longer contrail may be at a higher altitude where the conditions are more favorable for contrails to linger, and the other planes aren't.

And when you see two sets of perfectly parallel "persistent contrails" as soon as the sun comes up that eventually turn into a cloud, you really start to scratch your head.

That sounds reasonable. Why do Persisitent contrails seem to be much more prevalent today? The new jet engines? I never remember seeing persistent contrails like I do today. Also going from sunny days to hazy due to the persistant contrails of today. Is that due to increased air traffic in the last couple years?

Because you have new super efficient turbofan engines, and you have more air travel than we did 20 years ago. Even after 9/11 when air travel dropped it was higher than it had been for much of the 1980s. After I get done baking I'll dig up the animation that I like to bring out of the FAA radar screen on a normal day in 2006.

its probably the engines and the fuel they are using. that cause therm to linger so long. im no expert though so im jsut throwing it out there.

Here is a 24 hour animated gif from FACET showing the US over a 24 hour period. This was in 2006 when air travel was down somewhat still after 9/11.

I used to believe in Chemtrails until I took a required meteorology class in college. It was only a basic 100-level introductory course, but still was way over my head and probably over the heads of 99.9% of people. You would be simply amazed at the amount of science that goes into meteorology and weather.

Professional meteorologists actually only aim to be 80% accurate when they predict the weather, did you know that? If they can be right 80% of the time, they are the best damned meteorologists out there. I used to get angry when the meteorologists on TV would make a forecast but it turned out to be false later, and ruin my vacation plans. But now that I realize just how much science goes into it, and how hard it is to predict the weather, I realize just how hard it is for them to be right any way no matter how good they are at it.

Any way getting to the point. Just because a contrail (condensation-trail) lingers in the air, doesn't mean it's not a normal contrail. There are so, SO many different conditions the atmosphere can be in that influence if it lingers and turns into a cloud, or if it evaporates.

Seriously, just take a basic public meteorology class at your local community college (if you are not a matriculated student, if you are then take a non-public one), and it will all make sense.

Sorry folks, there are no such thing as chemtrails. It's just condensation, and the surrounding air molecules, amount of net solar and infrared radtion, and saturation of the air parcel determines if that condensation will evaporate or linger and turn into a cloud.

I'm surprised no one has actually embarked out and run some tests to disprove or prove chemtrails exist. It would be really simple, just have a friend fly in a passenger jet, and as they fly away, watch and see if any "chemtrails" form in the sky from that jet. If so, then you know chemtrails are fake, because passengers in the jet would be able to see the chemicals being sprayed out of a nozzle somewhere. If your friend however flies in jets a few times and it never leaves behind chemtrails, then perhaps chemtrails do exist and are being sprayed by unmarked military aircraft.
