Its worth noting that she got didn't realise the pranker called the PM of Canada 'Stef Carse', who is a singer from Quebec, and she didn't correct them. Does she not know the PM of of Canada, the country between Alaska and the rest of the US for christs sakes.

And their Québec 'prime minister', Richard Z. Sirois is a comedian.. Quebec doesn't even have a proper prime minister.. She has to be the stupidest person ever to run for VP

I'm not a fan for either campaign but this was just painful to listen to, ouch. Good thing they didn't say it was Jesus on the line, that'd make for an interesting conversation.

About it being mean, well she is going to potentically be the president. If she's this big of a moron she shouldn't be anywhere near the presidencial seat, let alone her kids.

This thread should be the #1 item here on ATS. Amazingly, I just heard about this on the TV news tonight. Just now.

I don't think I've ever seen something quite like this -- not even concerning VP Dan Quayle, who was the most abused political figure of my life time.

My question is -- what is Palin going to do in order to get even? You know she's thinking about it right now -- she is a self-proclaimed Pit Bull.

She tried to get her brother-in-law fired because he mistreated her sister. Tell me she will do less, in this particular case?

No -- she's conspiring for revenge today -- you know that. We will see.

At least she knows about REFORM... lol.. .

Palin, give it up, you are not ready or cut out for vice president... I could do a better job than you... In fact there about 170 thousand people who read this website who can do a better job that you...

McCain would get better polls if he ditched Palin, even this late in the race... It would be a bold move and the right move... I'm not voting McCain, but I might consider it if Palin was gone... Especially if McCain showed the guff to get rid of her...

Here is a link to a transcript of the fake interview:

www.dailykos.com...

SP Assist: This is Betsy.
MA: Hello, Betsy. This is Frank l’ouvrier (Frank the worker], I’m with President Sarkozy, on the line for Governor Palin.

SP Assist: One second please, can you hold on one second please?
MA: No problem.

SP Assist: Hi, I’m going to hand the phone over to her.
MA: Okay thank you very much I’m going to put the president on the line.
SP Assist: Ok he’s coming to the line.

SP: This is Sarah.
MA: Okay, Governor Palin?

She's running for vice president...
If she didn't even realize that all the names were fake...
1. She doesn't even deserve to be a governor, let alone vice president.
2. She deserved what she got.

I mean C'mon a potential Vice President who doesn't even know who the Prime Minister of Canada is?

Does she really think that the president of France, and of the European Union has nothing better to do then call HER of all people?

I don't condone prank calling world leaders, (because bad things could come of it) but in a way I'm glad they did.
Now we can all see how incompetant and flakey she is.

No wonder they call her caribou barbie...

Wow. In reading the transcript I would say the culpable person / people here are mainly her handlers and staff. She is virtually blameless.

She should fire her staff immediately, just as a matter of principle.

If I was Sarah Palin, and a trusted staff worker handed me a phone saying that the head of the EU was on the phone for me -- I would take the call. And I would probably suffer the same indignity as she did.

I would trust my staff -- something she clearly can no longer do at all.

You are joking right? You are deranged if you think she shoud fire her staff. Anyone in their right mind could have knock that crazy talk off...Or has this become the norm for presidents and world leaders to talk like that.

This prank was hilarious

C'mon people. It was a prank and they told her it was at the end. So, no matter who they impersonated, there was nothing unlawful. If they hung up without telling her it was a prank, then there would have been a problem there. Thats just my view of this.

I think this is great, and probably makes me like Palin even more. Why?

Well it's often said on this forum that all the world leaders are in cahoots with each other, you know, like they meet at those bilderberg meetings and discuss things in secret, and decide who's going to become then next president, etc.

Since Sarah Palin thought this was really president Sarkozy, and she didn't say anything sinister... do you see what I'm getting at?

She didn't say to (the fake) Sarkozy something like "Ohh yes, soon we will will be the next president, our master plan is almost complete", no instead she said "We are trying hard in the campaign, busy on the campaign trail", etc.

So I think this proves Palin is a legit, honest person and not one of the "elite". I mean, who else better to discuss NWO-plans with, than president Sarkozy, who is buddies with George W Bush? But Palin said nothing of the sort. They didn't talk about anything diabolical or sinister. Palin didn't say anything to Sarkozy that showed she lied to the American people, she said the same things to him that she has been saying to voters. So yes, she's honest.

And how does this make her look stupid for getting pranked? If you are a VP candidate for the USA and you get handed the phone telling you it's the president of France, you are supposed to assume it's not really him or something?

If someone called me and said they were the president, of course I would think it was a prank. Why would the president be calling me, after all? But if I was a mainstream candidate for president of the united states that has received worldwide attention, I probably would be a lot more likely to belive it's real and not question it as a prank.

Obviously the Republican right has been brainwashed. Of course they aren't going to let a "Christian" in on the plan... if they have one. You think she would just throw her faith aside and abandon her beliefs in order to rule?

No my friend, she is blissfully unaware of the nwo plan as are most of the far right Republican backers in the USA

I am not completely joking, and I am not 100% serious either. Let me just say, it works for me if she fires her entire staff. I understand that.

My question: who selected her staff? Was it McCain? Did she do it? Or was it the Republican National Committee? That is a significant question and the answer would be quite informational.

Edit: fix quotes.

If that were the case then the cast of Saturday Night Live would have been arrested a long time ago.

It was stupid but didn't cause any harm.

hahaha, i'm sure he did enjoy that great 'documentary' nailin' palin!

Really, she did so poorly, not even picking up the fake name for the PM of Canada.

Wow, that was painful.... Terribly terribly painful.....

I feel bad for her phone screener. She is probably on a flight to Guantanamo as we type.

That the staff led the call through to Palin is one thing, and should have consequences for the staff.

But to actually think the French (and EU) President calls her office and telling her about how hot his wife is in bed and other completely indiscrete stuff and NOT seeing through this is beyond ridiculous.

To me this was both hilarious AND revealing on many levels...

First, it points again to the rather inept skills of the RNC and the people responsible for keeping the Republican campaign operating well, i.e. Joe the No-Show Plumber and now this? Come on guys, get it together!

Also, unlike the majority opinion (so far) in this thread, I enjoyed the prank! I mean, she bit hook, line and sinker! For crying out loud the dude all but screamed BABA BOOEY at her! In fact, I'm all but sure even THAT would have gone right over her head. She's always tryin' so hard to sound so darn folksy, and rootin' tootin', that she can't FOCUS on what the heck is being said to her, and respond appropriately. Classic Palin, Epic Failin'

disclaimer: I'm a registered republican, voting 3rd party. I didn't intend for this to be a pro-Bama post, just to express how I feel about the call and what it says to me.

Palin pranked, thought she was talking with Sarkozy

So I thought to myself, is this a news piece?
I clicked on and I read it.

There the usual bunch of obama fans posting a story, oh ok I said to myself whatever. Bush/McCain fans also doing it, that's US over there, they got their elections, have patience until its over.

Something wasn't right though..I paused. I thought about this a bit..
So these people making pranks to candidates supposed to be what? Above the, ehm should I say law? Or common sense? Or decency?

That's the political scene of a superpower in the middle of elections? REALLY? R U still A SUPERPOWER GUYS?

I mean do you know how much more serious and balsy the Russian political scene looks right now compared to yours? I mean manly and big and you now..not kinda like gay 'n stuff. (snip for the word police:"gay" as in happy and full of joy, u know that silly "carefree" look)

Guys I don't know..but the rest of us need some kind of big strong, manly ally, not a wimpy, gay prankster (snip for the word police:"gay" as in happy and full of joy, u know that silly "carefree" look)

Ahh.. Liked to add one more thing. I realize you people got agencies that run around the world, doing stuff. Like shaping global politics or something, and are also illegal or unconstitutional for them to operate inside your country? Ahh, are they going to operate from a prankster doctrine themselves now?
The reason I am asking is I am doing a check. We people in other countries need I believe, to recheck our alliance list. I believe you people are falling from favor fast, much faster than your dollar.

Thanks for reading this. I hope whatever candidate you chose, for them to wear the appropriate clothing when appearing to audience. Not suits or the ussual staff but ..hey! Try some party gear outfits instead! For Kids party's preferably!

Ouch, Man! The truth hurts! But you're absolutely right, and make a great point. We've pretty much lost our image, and it's up to the people to make it right again.
