I just got done watching this google lecture about how Silicon Valley really started. It goes through some history from WWII through to the cold war,
covering topics like radar, the U2, A-12, the links between industry, universities, and the military. I found it really interesting, a lot of it I
wasn't taught at school, and I get the impression that only fairly knowledgeable military historians will know about some of this stuff.
One of the most fascinating parts to me is the lecturer mentions that the USA injected false radar signals into the Russian system, but when one of
the students asks at the end how that was done, he replies it's one of those things I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Does anyone
have any ideas how this is done?
