I came across this article from yesterday 10/30. I don't even know where to begin on thinking what was going on but it surely is not something that normally would happen around here. I guess it could be some kind of training exercise but you would think they would just say that instead of keeping everything a secret.

rather odd how vague they are with the details in that article.

S&F. That is the strangest article. Can someone from the area shed more light on this?

the sheriff's office is choosing not to disclose to whom the helicopters belong

Sorry but there's nothing unusual about this at all. I used to see this happening all the time. They could be doing anything from looking for drugs, to watching for people in areas they aren't supposed to be. Tell you "Hey, we're going to be flying around a bunch of choppers looking for drugs" is going to totally defeat the purpose of doing it. All the drugs they're looking for are now gone, and they don't find anything.

I've seen everything from choppers, to an ER-2, to a pair of RF-4Cs flying around looking for illegal things, and the only reason I knew what they were doing was because I was helping to keep them flying. There was NOTHING in the paper about their actual mission, just that they were flying around.
