Washington - Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain could have been left off the presidential ballot in Texas, where state law required parties to deliver written certification of their nominees by 70 days before the November 4 elections.

With unusually late conventions this year, both major-party candidates accepted their nominations only days after Texas' August 26 deadline.

The presidential campaign of candidate Bob Barr, nominee of the Libertarian Party, filed suit to force state officials to remove McCain and Obama from the Texas ballot. The Texas Supreme Court quickly denied Barr's motion without explanation.

Seems pretty disgusting to me. When third parties make the slightest mistake the major parties make sure they are punished, but when it's the major parties breaking the law, the judge dismisses it without even a reason.

So much for justice in Texas. Republithugs and Demithugs seem to have this thing locked up. These two rival criminal gangs don't want anyone invading their turf and will do whatever it takes to accomplish the task.

So the Texas Supreme Court makes a bad ruling and you respond by not caring because you base it on what the public wants?!?!? Wow.

I don't know how this doesn't really piss some people off..last I checked the law was supposed to apply to everyone. How is it even remotely acceptable that because Obama and McCain are 'popular' the law doesn't apply to them? I guess I will just never get used to the idea that justice only applies to the less wealthy and popular.

Don't you people know, those carpetbaggers used Texas as the model to steal the 2000 election? OF course it's corrupt!
