Whilst watching the final game of the World Series tonight, an unbelievable subliminal message showed up in a Duracell commercial. Call me old
fashioned (in 27 years old btw) but I don't remember parents electronically tracking their kids at any point in my life.
IT goes so much deeper though. Parents who are scared senseless from all the kidnapping and child murders portrayed in our nightly news may quickly
adopt this new technology with no questions asked. And children will grow up none the wiser that being tracked and monitored 24/7 was not the
standard way of living.
Baby steps are being taken, and this is just another example:
These brickhouse monitors arent the type you think, they are simply a silver dollar sized chip of sorts that you put in your childs pocket when you go
out. Nothing like the rfid but who knows maybe its a stepping stone.
I saw this a few weeks back, all I could really do was laugh at the thought of Duracell's rejected commercial ideas, where in Energizer is accused of
enabling child molesters.
It worries me, less than a chip would, but once we're used to tracking our own children why would anyone refuse governmental tracking?
Most of America may soon be vegetables, stuck to their couches to afraid to leave their homes for the false fears fed to them through their
television.
Whatever happened to keeping an eye on your child? Its worked the past 100 of so years. Once again I must be old fashioned.. when I was 9 years old
in 1990 and all my friends were playing ball in some random park, we didn't need to be electronically monitored... but then again, that was a
different time without terrorists and serial rapists coming to get us
I tend to go along with the peeps who think this is rather harmless, and quite handy for a parent. I have a five year old who will take off in a
mall, ballgame, or anywhere. I'm not so much freaking out like the mother in the ad, I just get real p*ssed having to wander all over the place
trying to find him. I can see this as saving the boy's bottom from a good spanking a couple of times a week. As far as the kids never knowing that
this is not what was normal for older folks, it doesn't matter. It's a tool that will be used from now on. Giving kids cell phones to protect them
was not an option in 1990, it's standard practice now. They do the same things we did, the parents just are a little more secure in knowing they are
not completely isolated from them. That doesn't mean they'll trust big brother any more or less than anyone else. It just means the parent is more
confident to allow their kids some space. And quite frankly, if the parent is more apt to give their kids more running room, I would think it would
better prepare them to not accept intrusions by government. With all the negativity a lot of people feel compelled to isolate their kids from the
dangers of the real world. This to me limits their abilities to learn how to deal with the real world until it's too late. The more isolated the
mind is, the more vulnerable it is to suggestion.
I think what we should do is put our children in cages. That way they'll be safe forever. And if you want to take them places just wheel the cage
around. If they grew up in a cage and all children of their generation did as well, they'll never know the difference! We can even give them the
freedom to choose to live in the cage or not at a certain age but we will also convince them that if they are not in the cage, they will be
kidnapped/murdered/serial raped. This way, we can say that they have all the freedom as a kid who didn't live in a cage (which the caged kids won't
know about as it was before their time), but it was merely their choice to live in the cage. That's the genius of the plan!
