Yeah, these political threads can be entertaining, to be sure.
What I find disheartening is the repeated repetition (brought to you by the department of redundancy department) of stuff that has been totally
debunked over and over.
"Obama is a Muslim"! Hogwash.
"Obama is a Socialist"! Bull.
"Obama is not a US Citizen"! Garbage.
and so on.
My personal opinion is that the big factor in general, not just here on ATS, is that Obama is a black man.
Yeah, I think race has a lot to do with the reaction to Obama. Deal with it. If he was a white guy, born in Hawaii, named Barry Johnson, I do not
believe the hysteria would be at the same magnitude.
Obama is not terribly far removed from Bill Clinton in his policies, and while there are plenty of people who dislike Clinton for various reasons,
there is nowhere near the kind of shrill, frantic blather we find regarding Obama.
The fact that Obama, a black man, is the leading candidate for US president speaks volumes about the evolution of society in the US.
The fact that so much obvious mis-information, to put it kindly, is still being circulated shows we still have some ways to go.
