I have never experienced sleep paralysis, but I have recently been more aware of my mind and what I see in it. Since I have paid attention to it, when I close my eyes I see billions of triangles and diamond shapes of all different colors in an intricate pattern going towards like a horison line kind of like the wave thing that is in your picture. Usually I will only be able to see it after I have been in the shower for a while. Almost every time when I get out of the shower, if I close my eyes, that is what I see, and I don't know why. I can even try to see something else, but the pattern will still be there.

In my closed-eye vision I saw a smiling female who dissolved when the fizzing sensation finished. It was creepy, but I was unphased. After a bout of sleep paralysis last Thursday, I saw what appeared to be a bar in my closed-eye vision. I've had a lot more, but I'm only going to discuss the more recent ones as it's not so time consuming to talk about.

I sometimes see startling things spontaneously and completely unrelated to my thought process at the time, for example just thinking about things like work or something otherwise completely mundane and then with my eyes closed I see something traditionally frightening, like a skull or a hooded figure, or some other icon of "scariness." It's always accompanied by a surge of fear and accompanying physiological responses, like adrenaline as if I was truly startled by someone sneaking up behind me and touching me as a joke.
