Hi,

From all the video clips I have seen, there was no actual spacewallk by Chinese taikonaut during Shenzhou 7 Mission that took place in Oct 2008. All that was shown was the taikonaut doing some arm juggling around the orbital module. The module for a start is too small and there is no external structure in place for actual spacewalking unlike the USA Space Shuttle.

Am I being overly pedantic here, did what the taikonaut did counted as "spacewalk" even though he didn't actually do any "walking"?

Kind regards,
Shenzhou

ok, ok.

Spacecrawl. Gotta crawl before you can walk, right?

Actually, what the taikonauts do is float around in space during an space walk or EVA(Extra Vehicular Activity) to be precise, so the term space walk doesnt mean the taikonaut walked in space, but floated in space because of the free fall conditions in orbit.
