After a successful Oct. 1 soft launch of the Clean Trucks Program, the next big date facing truckers calling at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach is Nov. 1, when the ports expect to go live with radio frequency identification readers, and all trucks calling at the South Bay ports will be required to have RFID tags. And while officials at both ports are not calling Nov. 1 an official deadline, they say they will be firm about enforcing the requirement.
