Just when you thought it was safe to peak out from the bomb shelter, Brazil has a horrific day on their markets . . .

Trading on Brazil's stockmarket, the biggest in Latin America, was automatically suspended Wednesday when the main Bovespa index plunged more than 10 percent.

Shut 'er down!!!

Asian and European markets are showing red across the board again this morning too, with the DOW, S & P and the NASDAQ throwing up crimson as well . . .

When do the death twitches end and the market finds a level?

This kind of thing has been going on all month all over the world, not just Brazil. Japan has been opening and closing off and on all day for weeks, funny to note though it starts a major nose dive and closes then comes back online and nothing happens in the way of the furry of trades it had before the "shut down". there has been a few independent news agencies that said it never really reopened.I watch the markets and it has been a roller coaster ride from hades to say the least. (Thialand for one shuts down when it gets anywhere close to 3.5% loss.)
Its all over the board and many of us are begining to wonder if there is even a "real" stock market left.

I think Japan closes for a lunch break every day. It's probably more to do with the timezone so they can overlap with european market openings, but they at least get a lunch break - even if someone else is eating their lunch.

Less that two hours left in our trading day and we're headed for another three percent drop in market value.

DOW is down 250, with corresponding percentage drops in the S & P and NASDAQ
