Stupid trojan!!!!

Okay....This calls for a big rant, so I was minding my own beeswax, I was bored so I desided to go to Modern Rock lyrics . com and read some lyrics. Well what happend next IS what got me ticked off!

I clicked a tab that takes you the first letter in the bands name right, well when I clicked it I got bombarded with all these pop ups when I clicked it, one of them was a "Web page data" box and then, what happend was I got this casino ad, but a download box came up, and the stupid trojan downloaded with out me clicking it!

Well I saw this and tried to hit cancel before anything elce happend but the Virus warning came up saying that I had a download.trojan! And I kept clicking ok and the waring kept coming! so I hit cansel on the download thing, and it went away.

So I went to the site to see how to get rid of it. Well it was simple, that is before I knew what it was for, it hooks to the internet and downloads other viruses and worms! So I cleaned out my cookies, turned it off, restarted it in safemode, waited for that to boot up, then I did a virus scan that like took forever just to scan the temp files, well after that was done (2 1/2 hours latter) I once again cleaned out my cookies, then my history.

Then I started to do countless searches trying to find this htm[1] . htm thing in the folder that it was detected in, and nothing came up....so I hope my ordeal with that thing is over! Because I can't take it! it is like this thing is a virus magnent! ARG! I just want to beat this thing with a baseball bat, Aim a missle at it and blow it to kingdom come sometimes! that's how much this computer ticks me off!

I got the trojan just by reading your post. Luckily the symantec caught it. But, wtf.

Curiosity killed the cat...............lol that sucks man I have had many trojans before.

Hope you are kidding, because that's like god damn impossible. (unless you got it from another source while reading his post)

I went to a computer games site once and within 30 seconds I had three virus alerts from my virus defence software. One from the site itself and two from some poxy trojan installers.

The bastards who put those things on their sites should be disembowelled with a spoon !

Yep, that's why virus protection is a must today, and also why I don't visit warez websites anymore.

I agree, they should get disembowelled with a spoon. And a rusty one.

All I know is I opened the thread and half a second later the antivirus sent a warning up to the top left hand corner of the screen:

backdoor.trojan
Quarantine successful: Access Denied.

Thats one hell of a coincidence.

*EDIT: I had a lot of programs running at the same time, but everything I tell you is the truth. Opened the thread about trojans and caught a trojan.

You got the TH from something else. I know cause I get them all the time and i've played around with them before at LAN party's and such.

(I'm a nice guy, i'm not putting them up on websites or anything, its just funny to see the look on your friends faces when you send an error saying "This is your computer, I hate you, i'm leaving")

I also got it the other day, I was surfing some w*rez sites. Thank god, those trojans can all kiss my ass, cuz I got Symantec Corporate A.V. protecting my PC ! Damn this software rulez.
