well ever since i was five i have had an unusual obsession with the supernatural growing up none of my family or friends could help me understand why. It has bothered me for years because it just doesn't make any sense to me and sometimes i feel like there is some sorta supernatural entity and when i try to investigate i find nothing to help me just more and more questions. So now i want to search for it instead of waiting for some weak thing to happen but i am not sure where to look could anyone please give me some advice on where to start.

IMO the ''supernatural'' is not something that you can really look for or find. Its not natural.

You should ask yourself why you want to contact an entity of a higher dimension.

Once you open the door, there can be serious consequences.

You have the power, as a human being, to open up doors of higher perception that can, under uncertain conditions, manifest into lower more dense physical dimensions.

theres plenty of places to start and plenty of things to read about.

But I would start out going to places that some people say are ''haunted''

All seriousness here.
Not a joke answer that I give.

To find what you seek you merely need to look inward.
You yourself may be harboring something as yet unseen.
Meditation can help you to explore the levels of psyche you may or may not be ready for.
It its the question that drives us, that compels up, that motivates us, and ultimately looses us in the answer if we are not prepared for it.
Be mindful of what you ask for. You may just find it.

I have to be honest: I don't understand your post

It doesn't make sense (to me)

You're claiming that as a 5 year old, you had what you describe as 'an unusual obsession' with the supernatural.

Yet you didn't know what comprised the supernatural .. didn't know what the supernatural was

You say none amongst your friends or family could help you to understand why you had an 'obsession' with something about which you had no knowledge or experience

So what was this alleged 'obsession' supposed to be about ?

It's equivalent to someone claiming that since they were very young, they'd had an 'unusual obsession' with spotted dick, yet didn't know what spotted dick was .. had no experience or knowledge of spotted-dick.. wouldn't recognise spotted-dick if it hit them in the face.

So what was the obsession with ... a word ? The word 'supernatural' ? Where does a five year old encounter the word 'supernatural' other than from tv or from those around them ?

You could have decided to develop an 'obsession' (frankly I doubt that as a 5 year old you were even close to being obsessed with the word 'supernatural') about the words 'crank-shafts' or 'shelled-peas'.

However, most people whose child had developed an 'obsession' (please read the dictionary definition of 'obsession') with shelled-peas, crankshafts or supernatural, would take that child to a child psychologist. Obsessions at any age are unhealthy. Any child who had genuinely developed an obsession with a word would warrant psychological assessment.

You say 'sometimes I feel there is some sorta supernatural entity'

I think you're wishing and hoping for some sorta supernatural entity because you imagine supernatural entities to be kewl, trendy, exciting .. and something you can utilize to gain attention and possibly power.

You say that now you want to 'search for it instead of waiting for some weak thing to happen'.

In other words, it sounds very much as if you've read bits here and there .. probably in fora such as this ... and have experienced nothing even remotely 'supernatural' -- and you're out of patience. You want it now. ' Supernatural, whatever you are .. manifest NOW! ' sort of thing, huh ?

You're trying to 'make it happen'. And it's not working.

Well, you're not alone. There are so many like you. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the tv series 'Supernatural' were produced with YOU in mind.

Now the demand has been created

Surely we don't have much longer to wait before that demand is catered to: ' demand and supply'

Surely some enterprising cynic will soon launch an online site where people like you can purchase (via Paypal) your very own 'supernatural experience'. You may even enjoy it. Just depends how professional the graphics are.

It will annoy you to learn this, but there are people who do experience genuine paranormal/supernatural phenomena. Generally, it's spontaneous -- meaning not contrived, not sought.

Now, when a person has experienced genuine, spontaneous paranormal/supernatural phenomena --- they quite often develop an interest in it and this interest leads them to research similar phenomena in the hope of understanding what they experienced and .. just as importantly to them ... WHY it happened to THEM. Rarely does this develop into an obsession and if and when it does, people give them wide berth as a rule, because obsessives are usually:

* disturbing
* disturbed
* unsettling
* unsettled
* alarming
* self-absorbed
* boring as hell

You on the other hand have NO experience of anything remotely paranormal/supernatural, by your own admission.

So your 'search' is similar to someone searching for a needle in a haystack, without knowing what either a needle or haystack looks like.

And as with most who want to run before they can crawl, you want the full experience, now, and not 'some weak thing'.

Sounds as if you want to be the star of your own 'Supernatural' tv show.
Tough, I know, but there are millions out there just like you, who also want to be star of the show without bothering to learn and perfect even the fundamentals.

Why not develop an interest (save 'obsessions' for later -- better still, for 'never') in something achievable .. something that might help you earn a living .. something you could put to practical use ... such as car-mechanics or carpentry or even a foreign language ? I'm serious. There's no quick road to glamour and excitement. And those seeking attention for its own sake are avoided like the plague, as are obsessives.

There ARE no short-cuts to the answers to what's loosely termed 'the supernatural'.

And you first need to know how to navigate this dimension effectively before detouring along the supernatural route. Lots of those living in cardboard boxes and talking to themselves allowed themselves to be detoured down the Buffy the Vampire Slayer road.

The supernatural is NOT an easy alternative to real life, though many want it to be.

Those who experience 'supernatural' phenomena are ordinary people. Many work 9 to 5. They mow their lawns. They take the kids to shop in supermarkets on the weekends. They dress like the Brady Bunch family. They go to church. Many, many of them are in their 40s, 50s, 60s. Their homes are painted in pastel shades and have flowers and shrubs. They're very, very ordinary people. Some might have one 'supernatural' experience during their entire lifetime. Others may have six such experiences spread over 30 years.

Life is NOT a tv-show

life is not a tv-show

Oh and this might interest you .... the 'supernatural' is happening all around us every minute of every day, everywhere. Yet only one out of a thousand people even remotely notices any of it.

As cheesy as this sounds, you don't seek the supernatural, the supernatural seeks you.
