so my wife and i were headed into SF to do some errands this morning around 8:00 a.m.
(sat. oct 18)

we were listening to former president bill clinton talk with the interviewer and one of his points he was addressing on the current political climate was:

"i wish they would disband the IRS"(!!)

we both looked at each other with jaws wide open that he said this in a national broadcast as NPR.

what are your thoughts on this?
am i too far-fetched thinking this could be a way to stoke the population's moral in light of a "one world" currency?

please note: he did not mention or refer to a one-world currency what so ever. *i* was just connecting some conceptual dots when we heard this on the radio this morning.
i guess we were pretty surprised to hear this to say the least.

maybe he was alluding to some type of flat tax that wouldn't require the IRS as we know it?

or possibly hinting that some restructuring definitely needs to take place but i wouldn't want to read too far into right now. maybe at a later time he'll elaborate a bit more on it.

I know.. its like the toll road road set up that only made money
for the pensions of retired officers so the state shuts it down
as a money maker gone south.

Perhaps the IRS can't support it own effort.

Passing laws to relax mortgages was a bigger money maker.

in its absurdity, collecting taxes may become obsolete with
annual inflation over 20-30%. so far they managed it, will
this last?
