Interesting perspective, Infinite. Although I truly think this was an attack staged by Al Qaeda. But I did not know they were that close to "finalizing" the union.

I bet that Blair is peeing his pants just thinking of it. He's always wanted to be EU president.

its interesting that the whole of europe wants to unite now after a terrorist attack. I think they are using this "fear" against us so we agree to a United Europe

I agree. But, it will never work. We have thousands of years of history of fighting and being at each others throats. Though, these last 60 years are just about the longest there hasn't been a conflict in Europe. You can't just make a piece of paper with lots of signatures change peoples minds about their views on other European countries. The French don't trust the Germans, despite being close allies, and the British are too commited with the yanks and so noone trusts us. Spain now has a socialist govt and so noone will trust them anymore.

The constitution won't work. El Presidente Blair should just concentrate on home matters.

Isn't it a strange irony that the Bankers created this European Union to "put an end to war," when it was they in fact who financed those wars? One tyrant went against another tyrant, and they both borrowed money. They were such suckers for conflict, any sorry excuse was enough to plunge them into debt, all the way from the One Hundred Years War, to WW II.

Then you are truly being played with.

The attack on Madrid was not a work by Al-Qaeda. Only "proof" that "supports" that is a video tape portraying the same guy that claimed USA electrical leakages. Baseless. Not counting Al Qaeda is not used to claim an attack before weeks have past. This video tape took only hours to appear.

Evidence points to extremist from Marocco.

OTOH, the attack favoured hard line antiterrorist PP, not PSOE, the actual elections winner, so if it was a conspiracy, it was an absurdly developed one.

it just seems to weird for me because after a major terrorist attack in the europe the last thing you want to do is setup a United Europe

It was interesting that the whole USA wanted to disunite EU after 9/11. I thought USA used that "fear" against us so we disagreed one another with the United Europe we were building.

No, I don't think that is the plot. EU is EU. USA tried to disunite us, and we are now catching again.
