Full Moon Question

Maybe this is the good section where should I write this. Now, I'm officially curious for one little thing. By my knowledge the full moon is always one night long, no more. It's the top position, like noon for the sun and it's always for one night. Now my question is, how is it possible that I can see the full moon for four nights? Because tonight is the fourth night when our little glowing escort thingy is make it's parade in the full phase and by my knowledge it's not possible.

Where exactly are you located on the earth?

Makes the world of difference for phases and transitions of the lunar paths.

That is quite simple, the fases of the moon pass by very slowly and we are not capable to see the difference of the first few bits of the fase with the naked eye (explained in lousy english... I know... I'm not a native but I hope you get the point)

Astrologically speaking, the full moon is only perfectly full for a few hours at best. HOWEVER, it often appears full the day before and the day after. Depending on your location and conditions in the sky, it may look a bit freaky but nothing is untoward.

Right now, in Eastern Europe. I'm used to watch the moon and I can make difference between the last phases of the moon and the full one. I swear in the last three days it was full without any glitch, without any problem. I was capable to see it, because it was a crystal clear night in the last three days and my eyes are still perfect. Today is the only exception. The sky is partially cloudy, but it's still a full moon, without any glitch.

ambushrocks. I'm also not a native English guy, so don't say sorry. I get your point, but I saw the moon countless times, but now, it seems different to me. I don't know why. Also quite brighter, then as it's used to be.

I understand what you are saying about being able to tell the difference, that's a good start because now we know it's at least not an ordinary mistake. Can you give me an estimate in degrees how high the moon is up right now in your place?

From my position: +65-75 degree upward (I just need to look up), to the south. And the clean sky has returned. Yup. It's full moon.

Okay well I just checked some astronomy sites and tonight and the direct surrounding days of tonight are days of the hunter's moon. The moon is much closer to the northern hemisphere right now allowing us to see it better, more shiny and bigger than normal. It also rises quicker than normal (something to do with the angle with earth)

Although this doesn't always occur exactly this way with hunters moon, it does this time. So this explains a bit ( i hope). Also the things I read state that hunters moon lasts a couple of days (totally full). It was called hunters moon because hunters could continue to hunt their prey after sunset due to the enormous amount of light comming fromt the moon.

The moon's full most of the time now. It's weird as hell. and a bit after i started noticing this, two of my friends tried to kill themselves on the same night. Mind you, me and my friends are "the crazy kids," but every time the moon's full, # gets #ed up with my group. And it's full for like 5 days not moving a bit. Then it'll start to get smaller and get half way and go back to full. I think the Illuminati's trying to make people crazy in order to get more people on pharmaceuticals. Then they'll start lacing RFID chips into the pills or some #.

I often think it is a full moon, but if I look more closely I'll see it's not truly full but one side is shadowed. That's just me though.
