The amount of money our government is spending in 2005 on research and development of weapons systems and other areas is insane. Check out the above listed link for yourselves. Do you think we are spending too much money on this stuff?

The sad part is that with all the technological research, the average soldier/sailor/marine spends his or her days using, repairing, and maintaining equipment that rolled off the line before they were born.

Um, I did my service and they only thing I ever used that was older than me was my M1911 .45 pistol. I'm sure it worked as well as the year it was issued.

If it ain't broke......

I know right? With all the money they have flowing in for R & D, there should be no excuse for our guys in Iraq not having flak jackets, for Christ's sake!
