What happened to thread tags?

Is it just me or has the option to tag threads been removed? I have tried searching for an answer before making this thread but no luck. If so, why was this feature removed?

One of two things comes to mind:

1. It hasn't really served a purpose to any and the tagging system has been removed. (Less probable)

2. A security hole has been found in the tagging system, and it has been taken offline until it can be repaired. (More probable)
