If I seek to control someone, all I need to do is scare them. Make them fearful of something, and I can predict their reactions and manipulate them to
my will.
There is a tremendous amount of coordinated and strategic attempts to push fear about the economy from all sides. There is good reason for those in
power to do this: a terrified populace is amenable to just about anything. If I tell you that the economy is crashing, that the great depression is
just around the corner, that our way of life is ending - you will let me do just about anything to "protect" you.
We know that fear is used as a tool to manipulate this. You read it on subjects concerning the use of fear in religion, the use of fear to create
"anti-terrorist laws" which infringe on privacy and civil liberties, etc.
This is not a new tactic by our government and the media. They've
done it before, and they are doing it again.
But for some reason, this time, people seem to be falling for it completely. I see no one questioning the fear mongering being pushed out by the
media. Everyone simply assumes all the dire predictions of utter economic catastrophe is simply the truth. When has the media ever been honest, and
why in the world would you think they'd be honest to you now?
I urge all ATS members to stop falling for it. Do not fall for the fear and hysteria. Once you do, you will be easily controlled. Question the
propaganda being put out - look at the evidence for yourself. You will find, when you look hard, that things are not nearly as dire as the media wants
you to believe.
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke
at any moment.

Remove the fear and the government and media loses. They want you terrified. They want you begging and screaming for their help. All of the propaganda
being peddled about the economy does not have to be true -
but as long as you believe it is true, they win.
