"French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who convened the Oct. 4 meeting, called for a global summit 'as soon as possible'' to implement `a real and complete reform of the international financial system.' He said `all actors' must be supervised, including credit-rating firms and hedge funds. Executive-pay systems must also be reviewed, he said. `We want a new world to come out of this,' Sarkozy said. `We want to set up the basis for a capitalism of entrepreneurs, not speculators.' There has been much conspiracy talk online about the financial crisis being engineered, and reading this quote made by French President Sarkozy made me wonder if there is some merit in it.
Are our old systems being torn down to be replaced by a "new" one?
Is this another part of the setting up of a new world order?

`We want a new world to come out of this,' Sarkozy said. `We want to set up the basis for a capitalism of entrepreneurs, not speculators.'
Well, New World Order or not, don't we all want a new world to come out of all this? Aren't all of us tired of the people and scenarios that got us into this mess in the first place? Don't we all want to see an end to seeing the little guy get screwed? A stop to seeing our friends and families being sent to wars in order to ring their cash registers?
What that new world will be is another matter. However, this current old world needs to be replaced, no doubt about it.

Actually, if you look at the second part of that sentence, he is saying exactly what many of us said really caused this world-wide crisis, namely speculation.
At the same time though I think more than one thing is being said and happening here. My point was that since Sarkozy has been accused by conspiracy theorists as being part of the NWO plot, and if this crisis was engineered, then this "new world" he mentions, even in the obvious context he says it in, isn't going to stop simply with changing our approach to finance and economy.

Are you serious?
This whole disaster has been instigated by the people who are now calling for change.
Its a set up, people have been going on about this for the last couple of hundred years and its still happening.
Being forcefully coerced (albeit many of us willingly) through shock and suffering into a 'New World' where there will be more control over our day to day lives isn't something to be proud of.
This isn't going to stop the little guy getting screwed.. this is just gonna through another tub of lube at him.

No offence, but did you actually understand my post? Did you miss the part where I typed "What that new world will be is another matter". I didn't advocate anyone's New World Order - can you point to where I did? I merely said that this present 'Old Word' is messed-up beyond belief and we needed a change. How, from that, did you get to the point where you seemed to think I was supporting Sarkozy or anyone else that's shafting the little guy?
So I ask you, "are you serious"?
