Well, I thought I'd share a little bit of info on some stuff I know about the NEST. Which to my knowledge is not very talked about anymore... on ATS anyway

Here is a link to FAS on full documentation of the NEST...
www.fas.org...

It includes information on Purpose, Policy, and other references. Along with concepts of operations.

Additionally it seems to be with a link to Area 19 (Area 51's Nuclear testing facility)...

Here is another link to some information from a Las Vegas station:
www.klastv.com...

Imagine if terrorists somehow obtained nuclear weapons or radioactive material. How prepared would we be for such a potential calamity? America's front line of defense against atomic terrorism is based here in Southern Nevada in the form of NEST, the Nuclear Emergency Search Team. Much of what NEST does is classified, but the I-Team spoke with its founder and is here with the exclusive story.

There may be as many as 800 people who are part of NEST, although the government won't give exact numbers. The same is true for its budget. And only a handful of NEST members will ever make their identities known. But they are here, working and living among us, ready to respond at a moment's notice to the ultimate terrorist threat.

Some interesting stuff... I'll post more when I come across it.

Note the date of the publication:

U.S. Department of Energy ORDER
Washington, D.C. DOE 5530.2
9-20-91

This unit has been around for a while now. I remember hearing about an operation they did in Russia a while back, but it was bits and peices. There pretty much isn't anything conspiracy theory related about these guys, they just do their jobs. It is kind of like a Nuclear Police force. Whenever unauthorized personnel or governments are known to have Nuclear Weapons, and are in violation of UN's resolutions, the NEST goes in and dismantles and removes all related items.

They are also trained as emergency responders in the event of a detonation, and work hand in hand with FEMA.

We definitely need these guys around.

Just thought I'd be some interesting stuff to add to the ATS Community. That and I've only recently heard of them.

It definitely is interesting stuff, just not conspiracy related that's all. I enjoy reading about that kind of stuff.
