YeY! An American vs. Aussie thread!

There is no "vs" between America and Australia. Our two countries have lived between us for so many years, because we have kept on having a friendship between our two countries that hasn't or has been in way formed for any other country + America. Australia HAS been at peace with America since forever, since Australia is a half a superpower...lol... that we have been the *ONLY* superpower type of country that hasn't been at war with America. I am a Australian, and I love America. Thank God for America being the *MegaPower* of the History of the World-Earth. I want to say SORRY to America for what our idiot Prime Minister Kevin07 has said and done. Kevin07 has screwed Australia in everyway he can, since HE has allowed every boat people to enter Australia. I hope John McCain will win...Peace To ALL Americans.

I think you'll find that the opposition leader Malcolm Turnbull is also for a republic.

In fact, he was the figurehead for the '99 referendum.

So if there were a new push for a republic, it would probably have bipartisan support.

But the republic is a long way off - at least until the current queen dies.

Can you imagine Charlie and his broad as king and queen, you're heads of state?

The US would indeed then become more appealing.

Just goes to show you how little Australians know about the U.S. that haven't been here - which I suspect is why they say they wouldn't want to live here.

Indeed if your only view is through the MSM than it's no wonder you believe it's a nightmare. No doubt there is good and bad in America, just like I'm sure you have places or neighborhoods you wouldn't want to live in Australia.

I've never been to Australia, but I've seen enough to know I could fit right in and be completely comfortable. Though I wouldn't much like the crappy skiing as I've seen your mountains & snow as they are a joke for a hardcore skier like me.

The only thing I've seen that's better in Australia is maybe their women overall seem to be better looking and more natural.

I've had nothing but good experiences with 99% of all Australians I've met and the only negative I've noticed is the younger crowd tends to drink too much.

Well said, I'm not tarnishing the US with the same brush.

Don't be fooled by the women - as East Timor's president José Ramos-Horta made mention in an interview, Australian women are very expensive!

I can't believe that our good friends would make such a suggestion! I think it's that wonderful Australian sense of humor!

Face it, both countries were founded and built by mutts. And I think that is one reason for our close affinity.

mate dont hold your breath on women in australia being hotter. i moved here from the uk (renowned for its ugly women) and im a bit disapointed to say the least and i moved to queensland where little clothing is worn by chicks even in winter!

anyway to get on topic i cant see why any australian would want to move to the US. ive been there and believe me australia is 100 times better though i did when i first got here notice how americanised the place is. and in regards to 76% voting for obama i think that just boils down to we're more liberal here. i think the die hard conservatives in america who call anyone who is slightly left of their opinion socialist, ultra liberal etc would call the coalition of the nationals/liberals a liberal party despite them being our conservative partys lol
