I need help with my absentee ballot

I posted this as a response in someone elses thread, but I do not want their thread derailed and I would like some input on this.

I have my absentee ballot sitting on the table next to me... I will not vote McCain, so thats out. I would like to vote third party, but I fear if I do then McCain will win. Not to say that my vote is the deciding vote, but I would truly kick myself in the a** if he won by one vote (I'm Irish, I have that kind of luck). So now I am in a dilemma. I wanted Ron Paul, he is not there, I don't want either major party, but I also would take Obama as the lesser of the two evils.. So what do I do?? Vote for Obama even though I don't agree with all of his views, or vote third party and chance McCain winning?

Its a shame that the third party don't get as much recognition as the two "major parties". Why couldn't Dr. Paul make my life easier and run lol. He would have had my vote, no questions asked.. I'm honestly to the point where I might not vote at all because I feel I have a lack of options at this point.

What do you guys think. I feel like my back is against the wall.

Call me biased if you will, but you are better off chancing a McCain/Palin win. Even if you do not agree with the issues or stances of the McCain/Palin Campaign, you can at the very least rest assured that this Nation WILL NOT take a dramatic and irreversible turn towards Socialism if they are elected. That in of itself should provide some security and comfort towards your decision of who to vote for, based upon who you believe truly represents the "Lesser Of Two Evils".

BTW, McCain/Palin are closer to Ron Paul in terms of views than Obama/Biden. Ron Paul has been calling for "Less Government Control", to which Obama/Biden are the complete and extreme opposite. Not to mention how Obama/Biden are going to attack many of our current Constitutional Amendments; through policies that impart greater restrictions upon Civilian Firearm ownership, and further limit Free Speech through the Increase and Expansion of "Anti-Hate Crime" laws.

I don't agree with all of Obama's views either. But I much prefer him over McCain, so I will vote for Obama.

And I feel, as you apparently do, that a McCain presidency would be as bad as or worse than what we have now. So do whatever you want, but it's more important to me that McCain not win than I agree 100% with the person that I vote for.

If the crooks have their way, it won't be counted anyway.

It would be cool if ppl could just vote on the views and let the views proposed work on thier own into law no matter who in all they came from since it could be mixed. Then you dont need any president, but just the best specific proposals from whoever in the mix.

I say vote for who you want to get the job. If it's a 3rd party candidate, so be it. The reason we still have a 2 party system in this country is because millions of people who think exactly like you vote for one of the two major party idiots instead.

I, for one, will be writing in my candidate this year. My write in may have little chance of winning but at least I won't be holding my nose when I cast my ballot this year. The rest of you need to consider this too because neither of the major candidates are good for the future of this country.
