The latest Fantastic Four arc as of October 2008 - spoilers

There's some spoilers here so look away now!

The latest issue, #560, just seems genuinely bleak and grim reading in the current political and economic climate. Whilst I loved some of the minor 'reveals' which were fairly obvious as to who some of the characters were &c, but the revealed motives behind what's been happening genuinely made me shiver. This comes after seeing Galactus used as a giant Duracell battery only last issue too.

I like 'realism' in my comics, which was one of the reasons I liked Millar and Hitch's Ultimates, and this storyline compared to what's going on now just seemed really intense. I've read hundreds of 'end of the world' scenarios before but, again, given what's happening at the moment it just seemed to have an extra edge. The future city scenes somehow didn't seem so far away, if that makes sense.
