I think there are many Christian beliefs and traditions that are unfounded and man-made.

i agree, however in my experience, made man traditions can be disproven using the bible. at least that is my experience.

for example, several catholic traditions directly contradict the bible. the gnostic faith is confronted in the bible with reason.

all you need is in there, just so many people believe what they want to believe. it actually has little to do with what is actually in the bible.

I find all of it fascinating. I too, have read up on many of the lost books of the Bible. Judas' Gospel is really eye-opening!

If one reads up on some of the latest information that is coming out from the Biblical scholars one finds a lot of discrepancies within the Bible.

This one fact alone: there are no original writings at all from any of the original writers, tends to make one question. There are only copies of copies of copies to the hundredth degree.

As one scholar put it: if God truly inspired the Bible and performed the miracle to do so, then why would he have not performed the second miracle; making sure that his words were truly and accurately recorded and passed down?

There are as many discrepancies with the NT as there are words in the NT! Please look to my thread below on; "Christianity is Imploding" to see the references.

I personally have said over and over that I feel that the Bible was inspired, but not in the way a Christian would believe. That; God allowed all the defects in the Bible to actually work against religion. In so doing, he helped devise a book that would later bring down Christianity by exposing all of the faults within the book that is such an anchor for the Christians.

It also explains why there are no two religions that can agree on its texts.

The safety net has been removed, as is divinely planned. Only those whose faith is dependent on it, will be really shaken up as more is revealed. And a lot is getting revealed all the time by those who have the earliest copies at their disposal.

A divisive tool to separate the masses!

Though I like to super analyze things, it's good you have the faith you do. It's the best attitude to have under the circumstances.

I find great interests in the many old text that were left out of the Bible. Didnt Jesus say (or one of the disciples) that there were many things that Jesus taught that could not be understood in his time? What if that time of understanding has come, what if there really are other text that will bring the whole meaning of 'Christ' full circle?

Wasnt it the Roman Orthodox who chose what books were to be in the Bible? If this is so, we should note that these were men that liked to be in control through the church. They wanted people to HAVE to come to the priests to be forgiven, they wanted people to HAVE to use the Church as a connection to God. Could they of chose the books in the NT pertaining to certain books that would help them keep their power over the people?

If Jesus taught that our temple was to be within us....this would not go over well with he Roman rule. If Jesus taught that you can come to God on your own, all by yourself, without a church or priest....this would go against the Roman rule also.

Anyone who studies any religion...if you are serious about the study, you should be willing to study these kind of things if you are confident that the spirit will lead you in truth. We shouldnt be afraid to look at other text tat are now coming into main stream. As long as your heart is in the right place, we should be able to study the history that is within many text, not just ONE book that was put together by MAN. Where did God say.....'HERE IS THE LIST OF THE BOOKS I WANT IN MY HOLY BIBLE?'

Thank you for your post! I starred you. This is my belief also.

Of course every religion teaches that they have the truth! It is the glue that binds a religion together. If one goes against it they are rebelling against the truth (this is what we all have been taught).

But supposing you and I are right and God is revealing many new truths and they go diametrically against what we have always been taught to believe is accurate?

This is where worship of the religion and its foundations, headquarters comes into play.

Thank you for your kind words Matrix. I do believe time is revealing a long lost knowledge of many things. I am not surprised that we see many people questioning things in this time. Here we are, a couple thousand yrs later after Christ, inbetween astrological ages also....finding new thoughts and seeing a deeper meaning.

I dont think its all about what scriptures are true or literal. I thinkits more about us needing to look within our nature to find Gods nature...which to me, is love.

I have a deep burning passion to learn all that I can from many beliefs, and then to use intuition of teachings of love and peace. I think Jesus did come here and was real and began the highway of this understanding that God is not both dark and light as the Bible displays THEE to be. We keep regressing by placing human characteristics on God and we keep going with the excuses and justifications of killings and the need of blood for sins.

I see a new light, and there is no darkness within it.
