Brown meets Bush to discuss Economic Turmoil

Gordon Brown will fly to Washington to discuss the global economic situation with George Bush.

The unexpected trip to the White House is a diversion from the Prime Minister's visit to the United Nations in New York, where he has been in a series of meetings today.

As well as the worsening financial crisis, issues understood to be on the agenda will be Iraq, Afghanistan and Georgia.

There's nothing on the 'net about it just yet it was breaking news from Sky News out here about literally 7 minutes ago so I threw up a semi-related article and will update as needs be.

But yeah so... The time has come where both G.B and erm... G.B have to come together to discuss this Crisis. - Something afoot here folks or just mere paranoia in something that would be deemed the normal route to take between British and American "leaders"?

The headline should be: "Brown Backs Bush's Bail-Out Plan." I only say that because for most Americans, when we see "WA" it doesn't mean Washington DC, it mean the state of Washington. When I clicked this topic I did so because I was wondering "Why is Gordon Brown heading to Washington?" and assumed it would be something pertaining to that pilgrimage that's happening here early in October.

Yeah sorry, meant to say DC. I honestly keep forgetting the difference between the states lol.

Perfectly understandable. I couldn't even tell you if the UK has states or districts, and I was actually a pretty good geography student.

But yeah, edited as they've finally put it on the website.

news.bbc.co.uk...

it's up on BBC news website now, not sure about this little quote

"Mr Brown, who is in the US with other world leaders for a UN development summit, said longer-term reforms to the world's financial system were also needed.

He said he had spoken to leaders from every continent and was gaining support for the idea of global supervision of financial markets, rather than it just being done on a national level. "

NWO ? or world financial order (if there's a difference)

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the expected CT meme of Brown delivering verbal orders from the queen.

But seriously, why a 'personal' visit? What the phone's broke?

Ahh, the crown, how fond we are.

My friend has just phoned me to tell me that America has declared itself bankrupt, he saw it on the BBC news and the website. Went on the website, and it ain't there, and I missed the scetion on the news, anyone confirm?

Most I've seen is 'emergency' talks and a 36-hour chance to turn it around?

Thanks
