With a quick search, I believe this link has all of the information you requested:

www.fedstats.gov...

This includes all of the financial statistics of the United States including domestic and foreign assets.

The government has a debt ceiling of around $9.4 trillion, most of which has been spent. In terms of actual cash, the Fed Res claims there's not all that much, far far less than the dollar value of the economy (thanks to fractional reserve lending and electronic banking). The total U.S. economy, as per that link above, is just over $14.5 billion, but that's the entire economy. The federal government has an budget of $2.9 trillion for fiscal 2008. The federal tax revenue for 2008 was about $2.5 trillion. If you add in other expenses like Social Security I've heard the total debt comes to about $60 trillion, but that's speculation. There's also the rumored "black budget" but no figures exist for it.

Anyway, the total amount of valuable assets under U.S. control (everything of value on or in US territory) has to be worth at least $50 trillion.

It is estimated that the US Government has about 17 trillion dollars at its immediate disposal at any given time. This includes 1.5 tr. reserves for national security, 1 tr for military and covert operations, 3 tr for cataclysmic disaster, 10 tr for continuing running the government for a few years in case no revenue is coming in, and about 1.5 tr for discretionary purposes. This is why Congress can appropriate billions of dollars for just about anything at the stroke of a pen. Apparently this does not include the value of the Gold in Ft Knox and the eight other gold, silver, platinum, uranium repositories the US controls. These will be used if the ultimate national recovery ever becomes necessary due to nuclear or natural disaster. There are other things in various repositories such as water, mre's, oil, medicine and fabric. These items are priceless when considering their ultimate pupose of ensuring the survival of the human species.
