FBI investigates 4 companies at heart of financial meltdown

Two law enforcement officials said Tuesday the FBI is looking at potential fraud by mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and insurer American International Group Inc. Additionally, a senior law enforcement official said Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. also is under investigation.

Well well well. This is very interesting indeed! Could it be they are guilty, or is the Fed just looking for a covenient way to cut those benefits packages away from the CEO's? Would the cases even see the light of day?

Either way, its nice to finally see some of the larger players get their hands slapped, even if nothing comes of it.
