Ahoy! I guess I took the red pill.

Hi there!

Name is Matt, 26 year old hailing from Australia-land.
I'm not really good with introductions, especially when they are in typed format, but I'll be sure to try my best!

Over the past 10 years now, I have been obsessed to the point of near-insanity with ancient history, conspiracy theories, UFO's, space exploration and the unknown. I crave the mysterious and ponder the possibilities of 'what if' constantly. Some say I take it too far from time to time, but I believe I've found a nice equilibrium.

About two weeks ago now, I had this 'feeling' that something just wasn't right in the world. Sounds crazy, yes, I was even wondering myself if I was going mad.
Long story short, I ended up 'waking up'. Overcome with dread, fear, terror and panic, I had to pull myself together and that in turn brought me here.

So since then, I've been reading into anything and everything I can get my eyes on across this site, depriving myself of sleep fueled by excessive amounts of caffeine and I must say:
It has made me so much more aware, and what fear I had, has totally washed away. Thanks ATS!

The only way I can really describe the 'awakening', is that of Neo being removed from the Matrix. Welcome to the real world! Cliche, but hey, it fits. Disturbingly well.

I suppose I should mention some details about myself whilst I write this novel! I love graphic design, and space photography. I've lost many hours of sleep pouring over photos of planetary bodies, inch by inch, in search of those elusive structures, artifacts or any signs of life.
I love mythology and ancient history, and the ideas and theories bound to them involving astronomy, astrology, aliens and even the future!
I'm not a religious person, I would call myself an atheist, however I do not dismiss the possibilities at all. I've quite often had to read up on aspects of religion in order to understand certain pieces of history or myth. I'm an information junkie!

In my offline persona, I work in a lousy office, doing monotonous drone work. Not fun, let me tell you. When I'm not being a slave to the system, I'll chill out to some tunes as I love music, Tool in particular, playing guitar (quite badly), enjoy drinks with friends, stargazing, photography, drawing, reading and most importantly: Spending time with the girlfriend. There, now she can't hurt me.

Not much else to say really, well there might be, but I seem to have dragged this novel on long enough. I do apologize for that! I Look forward to absorbing more ATS goodness, getting involved in various discussions, and speculating and theorizing like mad!

Just remember this: You will have find a LOT of bovine fecal matter in addition to truth in ANY conspiracy website. You will also have people who will try and get you to believe the truth is a lie, and the lie is the truth. These are different from people who are just mistaken, or misguided.

Learn to tell the truth from bs.
Learn to tell not only WHO is lying (need I say purposefully?), but WHY they are lying.
Learn to spot disinfo agents. (Yes, they really are out there).

Most of all, learn to THINK and EVALUATE, something TPTB ("The Powers That Be") don't want you to know.

TPTB is a generic term that everyone can use. It avoids the arguments of who is in charge, as some say Illuminati, some say Reptilians, some say Masons, some say Jesuits, some say The Pope (or the Black Pope), some say "rich old guys", etc.

And here is the real tricky part, in a way. You have to learn to live your life, AND ENJOY IT, all the while believing in this or that conspiracy.

Points are a valuable commodity around ATS and some members want to know how to gain points quickly. There are several ways to do this. One is to podcast, Podcasting if you don't already know is kind of like making your own little radio show about some subject that you’re interested in. Also contributing to TinWiki is a great way to make some points in a big hurry. Also by joining up with Twitter, you can get a lot of points right of the bat.

In BTS (our sister board) one can also find fun games and contests that are happening now, and also get you those points. By signing up with ATS you are automatically signed up for BTS as well, all you need to do is log in and join in the fun with the rest of us.

One should also familiarize themselves with the Terms And Conditions Of Use for proper ATS etiquette and site rules, this helps everyone avoid problems.

Quick spit out the RED PILL lol ...the blue pill would have been easier to swallow first then you take the red pill .....

I know Adreno would disagree with me on that lol..he said everyone needs to start with the RED PILL but I felt more comfortable taking the blue one first and easing into the red one ....now I really wish I had not eaten the red one at all .

I have indeed noticed this 'bovine fecal matter' that you mention sir_chancealot, and I must say I am most impressed at the manner in which hoaxers and fakes are flushed out here on ATS. This community is swarming with intellectual people who know their stuff, that's for sure! Also, thanks for the advice and rest assured, I try to analyze everything from all possible angles. Most importantly, I can guarantee I'll be having fun here whilst at the same time living my life and enjoying it

Given the choice Simplynoone, I think I'd take the RED again! I feel more aware of my surroundings, and the happenings around me. The veil was lifted I guess! Either that, or there was something funky in that pill!
