Well, this is the fourth time I've seen one of these things, but the first time I had a video camera to record it. The other 3 times it was stationary which would have made capturing it on video a little easier. The next time I'll be sure to take auto-focus off, too...the camera kept trying to focus on the leaves in the foreground.

This video was shot on Sunday September 21, 2008 at about 5:25 in the afternoon. It was beautiful day, clear skies, calm winds, about 16 C and the humidity was low.

I observed this object 'meandering' across the sky from the Northwest heading East for a minute or two before I was able to convince my wife to get my video camera (a Panasonic VDR-D210). It was moving slower than an airplane, seemed to pulse (like a dime spinning on it's edge) all the while going in and out a visibility in a non-rhythmic pattern.

While it was easy to track the object with my naked eye I had a difficult time trying to line it up in the view finder. And when I was able to lock it in, it took most of my strength to hold the shot.

My first thought is that it was a low level satellite but right at the end at about :57-:58, it takes a sharp turn down and then backwards. However, this could have been another affect of the auto-focus.

What do you think?

I've just created a slow motion, close up version of of the above movie to see if we can figure out what it is.

Very interesting, looks like what I seen 3 years ago. Only the orb went into a small cloud and stayed there. I get the impression its an unmaned observation probe, (its very small). Perhaps military or possibly e.t.
