Film Adaptation

Would anyone know any credible sources or material to study for as example, turning a novel or literature into a movie?

I am looking for anything, but it has been hard finding books on the subject for it is a small it seems of movie making.

Otherwise to become a better writer you just need to write a lot, and have it critiqued. I am a competent writer, (not of fiction) and the best feedback I ever received on my writing was from actual editors of journals. They are paid to get the best writing for their publications, so they will not give you any nonsensical "writer's workshop" type of advice.

Finally, I would be very careful about working on an adaptation where the source material has an active copyright, and is not in the public domain. For example, adapting The Red Badge of Courage would be fine, since that novel is public domain. If you wanted to adapt, for example, George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones, I think Mr. Martin and his lawyers would want to have a word with you.
